01 Jun 2007TL;DR: Adapt robust force/motion control strategies are presented for mobile manipulators under both holonomic and nonholonomic constraints in the presence of uncertainties and disturbances and guarantee that the system motion converges to the desired manifold with prescribed performance and the bounded constraint force.
Abstract: In this paper, adaptive robust force/motion control strategies are presented for mobile manipulators under both holonomic and nonholonomic constraints in the presence of uncertainties and disturbances. The proposed control is robust not only to parameter uncertainties such as mass variations but also to external ones such as disturbances. The stability of the closed-loop system and the boundedness of tracking errors are proved using Lyapunov stability synthesis. The proposed control strategies guarantee that the system motion converges to the desired manifold with prescribed performance and the bounded constraint force. Simulation results validate that the motion of the system converges to the desired trajectory, and the constraint force converges to the desired force

TL;DR: This paper describes a parameterized family of networks and analyzes their connectivity and sensitivity, identifying a network that has an interconnectedness closer to that of a scale-free network, a robustness to attack closer to those of an exponential network, and a resistance to failure better than that of either of those networks.
Abstract: Scale-free networks rely on a relatively small number of highly connected nodes to achieve a high degree of interconnectivity and robustness to random failure, but suffer from a high sensitivity to directed attack. In this paper we describe a parametrized family of networks and analyze their connectivity and sensitivity, identifying a network that has an interconnectedness closer to that of a scale-free network, a robustness to attack closer to that of an exponential network, and a resistance to failure better than that of either of those networks.

TL;DR: It is shown that the refractive index modulation as high as 5.3x10(-3), together with substantive photopolymerization-shrinkage suppression, is obtained at the nanoparticle concentration of 15 vol.%.
Abstract: We demonstrate and characterize volume holographic recording in ZrO2 nanoparticle-dispersed acrylate photopolymer films that have very low scattering loss. More than thirty-fold reduction in the scattering coefficient, as compared with those of previously reported TiO2 nanoparticle-dispersed photopolymers, is achieved. It is shown that the refractive index modulation as high as 5.3×10-3, together with substantive photopolymerization-shrinkage suppression, is obtained at the nanoparticle concentration of 15 vol.%. Dependences of nanoparticle concentration and grating spacing on the refractive index modulation are also investigated.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors deal with the strain measurement caused by industrial robots and discuss design criterions of robot collaboration with a human operator in a cell production assembly system, where several basic strains are experimentally measured: distance from a swinging robot to an operator, speed at robot's movement towards an operator and so on.
