TL;DR: In this article, the authors construct CFT operators which are dual to local bulk fields in the semiclassical limit and show that at finite $N$ the number of independent commuting operators localized within a bulk volume saturates the holographic bound.
Abstract: The Lorentzian anti-de Sitter/conformal field theory correspondence implies a map between local operators in supergravity and nonlocal operators in the CFT. By explicit computation we construct CFT operators which are dual to local bulk fields in the semiclassical limit. The computation is done for general dimension in global, Poincar\'e and Rindler coordinates. We find that the CFT operators can be taken to have compact support in a region of the complexified boundary whose size is set by the bulk radial position. We show that at finite $N$ the number of independent commuting operators localized within a bulk volume saturates the holographic bound.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors build on Ajzen's theory of planned behavior and on Stern et al.'s value-belief-norm theory to propose and test a model that predicts proenvironmental behavior.
Abstract: This article builds on Ajzen's theory of planned behavior and on Stern et al.'s value-belief-norm theory to propose and test a model that predicts proenvironmental behavior. In addition to relationships between beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors, we incorporate Inglehart's postmaterialist and Schwartz's harmony value dimensions as contextual antecedents at the national level. Structural equation modeling analyses of a 27-country sample provide almost full support for the mediation model. Postmaterialistic values, but not harmony, affect environmental concern; in turn, environmental concern, perceived threat, and perceived behavioral control affect willingness to sacrifice, which then affects a variety of proenvironmental behaviors. The findings emphasize the contribution of cultural conditions to the shaping of individuals'actions vis-a-vis environmental issues, alongside individual-level social-psychological variables.

TL;DR: In this paper, a projection algorithm is proposed to minimize a proximity function that measures the distance of a point from all sets in the image space, which generalizes the convex feasibility problem as well as two-sets split feasibility problem.
Abstract: The multiple-sets split feasibility problem requires finding a point closest to a family of closed convex sets in one space such that its image under a linear transformation will be closest to another family of closed convex sets in the image space. It can be a model for many inverse problems where constraints are imposed on the solutions in the domain of a linear operator as well as in the operator's range. It generalizes the convex feasibility problem as well as the two-sets split feasibility problem. We propose a projection algorithm that minimizes a proximity function that measures the distance of a point from all sets. The formulation, as well as the algorithm, generalize earlier work on the split feasibility problem. We offer also a generalization to proximity functions with Bregman distances. Application of the method to the inverse problem of intensity-modulated radiation therapy treatment planning is studied in a separate companion paper and is here only described briefly.

TL;DR: Recent findings suggest that the learning of sequential finger movements produces a slowly evolving reorganization within primary motor cortex (M1) over the course of weeks and this change in M1 follows more dynamic, rapid changes in the cerebellum, striatum, and other motor-related cortical areas over the Course of days.

TL;DR: The authors investigated the gains m three types of English as a Foreign Language vocabulary knowledge, passive, controlled active and free active, in one year of school instruction and examined how these aspects of lexical knowledge are related to one another, and what changes occur in these relauonships after one year.
Abstract: The study investigates the gains m three types of English as a Foreign Language vocabulary knowledge, passive, 'controlled active' and free active, in one year of school instruction It also examines how these aspects of lexical knowledge are related to one another, and what changes occur in these relauonships after one year Gains in vocabulary were measured by comparing two groups of learners with six and seven years of instruction Relauonships among the three areas of knowledge were invesngated by comparing them within the same individuals The results show that passive vocabulary size (as measured by Vocabulary Levels Test) progressed very well, controlled acttve vocabulary (as measured by the productive version of the Levels Test) progressed too but less than the passive Free acuve vocabulary (as measured by Lexical Frequency Profile) did not progress at all Passive vocabulary size was larger than controlled acuve in both groups of subjects, but the gap between the two types of knowledge increased in the more advanced group Passive and controlled acuve size scores correlated with each other well Free active vocabulary, on the other hand, did not correlate with the other two types The results raise several questions about the nature of vocabulary knowledge and the effect of instruction on vocabulary growth
