TL;DR: In this article, the plasmonic performance of TiN was evaluated by calculating the surface-plasmon polariton dispersion relations and the Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) band of nanoparticles.
Abstract: Titanium nitride (TiN) is one of the most well-established engineering materials nowadays. TiN can overcome most of the drawbacks of palsmonic metals due to its high electron conductivity and mobility, high melting point and due to the compatibility of its growth with Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) technology. In this work, we review the dielectric function spectra of TiN and we evaluate the plasmonic performance of TiN by calculating (i) the Surface Plasmon Polariton (SPP) dispersion relations and (ii) the Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) band of TiN nanoparticles, and we demonstrate a significant plasmonic performance of TiN.

TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed analysis of extreme-ultraviolet observations of the formation of a flux rope during a confined flare followed about 7 hr later by the ejection of the flux rope and an eruptive flare is presented.
Abstract: Magnetic flux ropes play a central role in the physics of coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Although a flux-rope topology is inferred for the majority of coronagraphic observations of CMEs, a heated debate rages on whether the flux ropes pre-exist or whether they are formed on-the-fly during the eruption. Here, we present a detailed analysis of extreme-ultraviolet observations of the formation of a flux rope during a confined flare followed about 7 hr later by the ejection of the flux rope and an eruptive flare. The two flares occurred during 2012 July 18 and 19. The second event unleashed a fast (>1000 km s–1) CME. We present the first direct evidence of a fast CME driven by the prior formation and destabilization of a coronal magnetic flux rope formed during the confined flare on July 18.

TL;DR: This paper survey, classify and comparatively study the various definitions, algorithms and metrics for result diversification.
Abstract: Result diversification has recently attracted much attention as a means of increasing user satisfaction in recommender systems and web search. Many different approaches have been proposed in the related literature for the diversification problem. In this paper, we survey, classify and comparatively study the various definitions, algorithms and metrics for result diversification.

TL;DR: The extraordinary sensitivity and fast response of this Mg(2+) metal-organic framework for water, and its reusability make it one of the most powerful water sensors known.
Abstract: The development of efficient sensors for the determination of the water content in organic solvents is highly desirable for a number of chemical industries. Presented herein is a Mg(2+) metal-organic framework (MOF), which exhibits the remarkable capability to rapidly detect traces of water (0.05-5 % v/v) in various organic solvents through an unusual turn-on luminescence sensing mechanism. The extraordinary sensitivity and fast response of this MOF for water, and its reusability make it one of the most powerful water sensors known.

TL;DR: This analysis of genome-wide association results from 5 large populations found many common genetic variants that have robust statistical evidence for association with various traits and diseases, including osteoporosis.
Abstract: Although variations in 150 genes have been tested for their influence on bone mineral density (BMD), they have not been tested for replication in large studies that assess all common genetic variat...
