TL;DR: IRE ablation of locally advanced pancreatic tumors remains safe and in the appropriate patient who has undergone standard induction therapy for a minimum of 4 months can achieve greater local palliation and potential improved overall survival compared with standard chemoradiation–chemotherapy treatments.
Abstract: Background Locally advanced unresectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma (LAC) is characterized by poor survival despite chemotherapy and conventional radiation therapy. We have recently reported on the safety of using irreversible electroporation (IRE) for the management of LAC. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the overall survival in patients with LAC treated with IRE.

TL;DR: This review discusses a novel type of immunotherapy for cancer that uses soluble yeast β-glucan to override the normal resistance of iC3b-opsonized tumor cells to the cytotoxic activation of phagocyte and NK cell CR3, allowing this important effector mechanism of the C system to function against tumor cells in the same way that it normally functions against bacteria and yeast.

TL;DR: This tutorial review collects the most recent advances in the isolation and reactivity of organogold compounds that may help to open new directions in homogenous gold catalysis.
Abstract: Homogeneous gold catalysis has been one of the most active research fields in organic chemistry for more than a decade, and it has been also among the most efficient methodologies for forming carbon–carbon or carbon–heteroatom bonds. Recently, a number of organogold intermediates were isolated from stoichiometric reactions, which helps to better understand the mechanisms. Meanwhile, the reactivity of organogold compounds has been attracting the attention of organic chemists in the field. This tutorial review collects the most recent advances in the isolation and reactivity of organogold compounds that may help to open new directions in homogenous gold catalysis.

TL;DR: In this paper, a precise measurement of the cross section for the process e^+e^- → K^+K^-(γ) from threshold to an energy of 5 GeV is obtained with the initial-state radiation (ISR) method using 232 fb^(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at energies near 10.6 GeV.
Abstract: A precise measurement of the cross section for the process e^+e^- → K^+K^-(γ) from threshold to an energy of 5 GeV is obtained with the initial-state radiation (ISR) method using 232 fb^(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at e^+e^- center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV. The measurement uses the effective ISR luminosity determined from the e^+e^- → μ^+μ^-(γ)γ_(ISR) process with the same data set. The corresponding lowest-order contribution to the hadronic vacuum polarization term in the muon magnetic anomaly is found to be a_μ^(KK,LO)=(22.93 ± 0.18_(stat) ± 0.22_(syst))×10^(-10). The charged kaon form factor is extracted and compared to previous results. Its magnitude at large energy significantly exceeds the asymptotic QCD prediction, while the measured slope is consistent with the prediction.
