TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply the higher derived brackets construction to obtain a geometric description of Lie n -algebroids by means of brackets and anchors, and give an explicit formula for the Chevalley-Eilenberg differential of a Lie n-algebroid.

TL;DR: A framework for the description of model transformation intents is defined, which includes a description of properties a model transformation has to satisfy to qualify as a suitable realization of an intent.
Abstract: The notion of model transformation intent is proposed to capture the purpose of a transformation. In this paper, a framework for the description of model transformation intents is defined, which includes, for instance, a description of properties a model transformation has to satisfy to qualify as a suitable realization of an intent. Several common model transformation intents are identified, and the framework is used to describe six of them in detail. A case study from the automotive industry is used to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed framework for identifying crucial properties of model transformations with different intents and to illustrate the wide variety of model transformation intents that an industrial model-driven software development process typically encompasses.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe how the inclusion of temperature modifies the electronic bands of single-layer MoS${}_{2}$, and explain why, for the bound $A$ and $B$ excitons, the electron-phonon coupling changes mainly the position, and for the $C$ exciton, only the width is affected by temperature.
Abstract: The electron-phonon interaction alters substantially the conventional picture of the band structure. It also changes the properties of excitonic states, which are very pronounced in many 2D materials. Using many-body perturbation theory, the authors describe how the inclusion of temperature modifies the electronic bands of single-layer MoS${}_{2}$. Different bands and different regions in the Brillouin zone are affected in different ways by electron-phonon coupling. Using the temperature-broadened bands as input for the Bethe-Salpeter equation, the authors explain why, for the bound $A$ and $B$ excitons, the electron-phonon coupling changes mainly the position, and for the $C$ exciton, only the width is affected by temperature, while the energy is rather constant.

TL;DR: Model data demonstrate that modeling complex metabolic pathways is a useful tool to study the significance of single enzyme activities in complex, nonintuitive networks.
Abstract: A mathematical model representing metabolite interconversions in the central carbohydrate metabolism of Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) was developed to simulate the diurnal dynamics of primary carbon metabolism in a photosynthetically active plant leaf. The model groups enzymatic steps of central carbohydrate metabolism into blocks of interconverting reactions that link easily measurable quantities like CO 2 exchange and quasi-steady-state levels of soluble sugars and starch. When metabolite levels that fluctuate over diurnal cycles are used as a basic condition for simulation, turnover rates for the interconverting reactions can be calculated that approximate measured metabolite dynamics and yield kinetic parameters of interconverting reactions. We used experimental data for Arabidopsis wild-type plants, accession Columbia, and a mutant defective in vacuolar invertase, AtbFruct4, as input data. Reducing invertase activity to mutant levels in the wild-type model led to a correct prediction of increased sucrose levels. However, additional changes were needed to correctly simulate levels of hexoses and sugar phosphates, indicating that invertase knockout causes subsequent changes in other enzymatic parameters. Reduction of invertase activity caused a decline in photosynthesis and export of reduced carbon to associated metabolic pathways and sink organs (e.g. roots), which is in agreement with the reported contribution of vacuolar invertase to sink strength. According to model parameters, there is a role for invertase in leaves, where futile cycling of sucrose appears to have a buffering effect on the pools of sucrose, hexoses, and sugar phosphates. Our data demonstrate that modeling complex metabolic pathways is a useful tool to study the significance of single enzyme activities in complex, nonintuitive networks. During the last few years, systems biology has become a rapidly expanding interdisciplinary field of

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple protocol for secure delegation of the elliptic-curve pairing is described, where a computationally limited device (typically a smart-card) will delegate the computation of the pairing e(A,B) to a more powerful device (for example a PC), in such a way that the powerful device learns nothing about the points A and B, and can detect when the limited device is cheating.
