TL;DR: The investigations of this paper will provide suggestions to improve the structure and control algorithm optimization for a novel compliant dual redundant parallel mechanism in order to achieve the feature of larger workspace, higher motion precision and better dynamic characteristics.
Abstract: This paper presents the design and modeling of a new 6-DOF 8-PSS/SPS compliant dual redundant parallel robot with wide-range flexure hinges. This robot can achieve either high accurate positioning or rough positioning as well as a 6-DOF active vibration isolation and excitation to the payload placed on the moving platform. Adopting a kind of wide-range flexure hinge, we establish the kinematics model of the macro parallel mechanism system via the stiffness model and Newton–Raphson method, then we build up the dynamics model using Kane’s method for the micro-motion system. The investigations of this paper will provide suggestions to improve the structure and control algorithm optimization for a novel compliant dual redundant parallel mechanism in order to achieve the feature of larger workspace, higher motion precision and better dynamic characteristics. The results will be helpful in modifying the structure of the prototype platform to enhance its high kinematics and dynamics properties.

TL;DR: As a proof‐of‐concept prototype, a high‐quality information encryption strategy is established via CD based CL imaging techniques by virtue of the high brightness and multicolor CL.
Abstract: The various luminescent properties of carbon nanodots (CDs) reveal fascinating applications in several areas. Here, bright and multicolor chemiluminescence (CL) is realized from CDs, whose CL quantum yield can be optimized by adjusting the energy level alignment between the CDs and 1,2-dioxetanedione intermediate generated from the reaction of peroxalate and hydrogen peroxide. A CL quantum yield of 9.32 × 10-3 Einsteins mol-1, maximal luminance of 3.28 cd m-2, and lifetime of 186.4 s are achieved in red CDs, all of which are the best values ever reported for CDs. As a proof-of-concept prototype, a high-quality information encryption strategy is established via CD based CL imaging techniques by virtue of the high brightness and multicolor CL.

TL;DR: The objective of the present review is to make a systematic report on glucose metabolism in T2DM as well as to explore the relationships between natural phytochemicals and glucose handling.
Abstract: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is the most prevalent disease and becoming a serious public health threat worldwide. It is a severe endocrine metabolic disorder that has the ability to induce serious complications in all kinds of organs. Although mechanisms of anti-diabetics have been described before, we focus here on the cellular and physiological mechanisms involved in the modulation of insulin and glucose blood levels. As obesity and inflammation are intimately associated with the development of T2DM, their possible relationships are also described. The effects of gut microbiota on insulin resistance have been recently investigated in clinical trials, and we discuss the potential mechanisms by which gut microbiota may improve glucose handling, especially via the metabolism of ingested phytochemicals. Among the historically supported effects of phytochemicals, their therapeutic potential for T2DM leads to consider these natural products as an important pool for the identification of novel anti-diabetic drug leads. This current research extends the descriptions of anti-diabetic effects of plants that are used in traditional medicines or as nutraceuticals. The objective of the present review is to make a systematic report on glucose metabolism in T2DM as well as to explore the relationships between natural phytochemicals and glucose handling.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the relationship between human resource flexibility, organizational culture, and organizational performance, and developed a conceptual model that links the constructs together, which is hypothesized that the three sub-dimensions of HR flexibility (i.e., employee skill flexibility, employee behaviour flexibility, and HR practice flexibility) affect adaptability culture, which in turn impacts HR-related and market-related outcomes.
Abstract: This article explores the relationships between human resource (HR) flexibility, organizational culture, and organizational performance. Drawing on previous works, we develop a conceptual model that links the constructs together. It is hypothesized that the three sub-dimensions of HR flexibility (i.e. employee skill flexibility, employee behaviour flexibility, and HR practice flexibility) affect adaptability culture, which in turn impacts HR-related and market-related outcomes. The data were collected via a questionnaire survey of HR directors/managers in multinational corporations (MNCs) in Hong Kong. The results of structural equation modelling (SEM) reveal the positive effects of employee behaviour flexibility and HR practice flexibility on adaptability culture. Employee skill flexibility, however, exerts no such effect. Further, adaptability culture is found to affect both HR-related and market-related performance in a positive manner.
