TL;DR: In this article, a three-stage stress-strain model for stainless steels is proposed, which is capable of accurate predictions over the full ranges of both tensile and compressive strains.
Abstract: Advanced numerical modeling of cold-formed stainless steel members, from manufacturing to full-range response under applied loading, requires knowledge of the stress-strain relationship of the material over a wide range of tensile and compressive strains. Although a number of stress-strain models have been developed for stainless steels, they are only capable of accurate predictions either over a limited strain range or for the tensile stress-strain behavior only. This paper presents a three-stage stress-strain model for stainless steels, which is capable of accurate predictions over the full ranges of both tensile and compressive strains. The new stress-strain model is defined using the three basic Ramberg-Osgood parameters and is based on a careful interpretation of existing experimental data. The accuracy of the proposed model is demonstrated by comparing its predictions with experimental stress-strain curves. These comparisons also clearly demonstrate the advantage of the proposed model over the only existing full-range stress-strain model.

TL;DR: Some well-known functions of FSH and LH in fish are confirmed while also providing evidence for novel functions, which would be difficult to reveal using traditional biochemical and physiological approaches.
Abstract: Vertebrate reproduction is controlled by two gonadotropins (FSH and LH) from the pituitary. Despite numerous studies on FSH and LH in fish species, their functions in reproduction still remain poorly defined. This is partly due to the lack of powerful genetic approaches for functional studies in adult fish. This situation is now changing with the emergence of genome-editing technologies, especially Transcription Activator-Like Effector Nuclease (TALEN) and Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR). In this study, we deleted the hormone-specific β-genes of both FSH and LH in the zebrafish using TALEN. This was followed by a phenotype analysis for key reproductive events, including gonadal differentiation, puberty onset, gametogenesis, final maturation, and fertility. FSH-deficient zebrafish (fshb−/−) were surprisingly fertile in both sexes; however, the development of both the ovary and testis was significantly delayed. In contrast, LH-deficient zebrafish (lhb−/−) showed normal gon...

TL;DR: This review provides a comprehensive overview of the theory of cell membrane coating technology, followed by a summary of the existing preparation and characterization techniques, and focuses on the functions and applications of various cell membrane types.
Abstract: Cell membrane coating technology is an approach to the biomimetic replication of cell membrane properties, and is an active area of ongoing research readily applicable to nanoscale biomedicine. Nanoparticles (NPs) coated with cell membranes offer an opportunity to unite natural cell membrane properties with those of the artificial inner core material. The coated NPs not only increase their biocompatibility but also achieve effective and extended circulation in vivo, allowing for the execution of targeted functions. Although cell membrane-coated NPs offer clear advantages, much work remains before they can be applied in clinical practice. In this review, we first provide a comprehensive overview of the theory of cell membrane coating technology, followed by a summary of the existing preparation and characterization techniques. Next, we focus on the functions and applications of various cell membrane types. In addition, we collate model drugs used in cell membrane coating technology, and review the patent applications related to this technology from the past 10 years. Finally, we survey future challenges and trends pertaining to this technology in an effort to provide a comprehensive overview of the future development of cell membrane coating technology.

TL;DR: This paper investigates a practical variant of the vehicle routing problem (VRP), called VRP with simultaneous delivery and pickup and time windows (VRPSDPTW), in the logistics industry and shows that MOLS outperforms MOMA in most of instances.
Abstract: This paper investigates a practical variant of the vehicle routing problem (VRP), called VRP with simultaneous delivery and pickup and time windows (VRPSDPTW), in the logistics industry. VRPSDPTW is an important logistics problem in closed-loop supply chain network optimization. VRPSDPTW exhibits multiobjective properties in real-world applications. In this paper, a general multiobjective VRPSDPTW (MO-VRPSDPTW) with five objectives is first defined, and then a set of MO-VRPSDPTW instances based on data from the real-world are introduced. These instances represent more realistic multiobjective nature and more challenging MO-VRPSDPTW cases. Finally, two algorithms, multiobjective local search (MOLS) and multiobjective memetic algorithm (MOMA), are designed, implemented and compared for solving MO-VRPSDPTW. The simulation results on the proposed real-world instances and traditional instances show that MOLS outperforms MOMA in most of instances. However, the superiority of MOLS over MOMA in real-world instances is not so obvious as in traditional instances.
