Abstract: Legumes and cereal by-product flours were formulated into six of deep-fried snacks, which were evaluated for their physicochemical and sensory properties. Shelf life was analyzed for chemical parameters including: moisture gain, free fatty acid (FFA), and peroxide value (PV) at time intervals of 5 days along with organoleptic evaluation at the beginning and after 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 days of storage at room temperature (29 ± 2.0 °C) and relative humidity (67 ± 2.5%). A strong negative correlation (−0.83) was observed between the bulk density and the expansion ratio of the products. During storage moisture gain, FFA and PV increased linearly (R 2 > 0.92). The results of organoleptic evaluation of all six fried snacks showed that there was no consistent pattern for sensory attributes. The maximum shelf life of the products was 24 days under the storage conditions studied.

TL;DR: In this paper, the growth of bullet-like gold-zinc oxide (Au-ZnO) heterodimer nanoparticles has been reported and a formation pathway for the bulletlike morphology has been proposed.
Abstract: In this work, the gold nanoseed mediated growth of bullet-like gold–zinc oxide (Au–ZnO) heterodimer nanoparticles has been reported. A formation pathway for the bullet-like morphology has been proposed. The heterojunction effect of the Au–ZnO nanoparticles was studied using UV-vis spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The bullet-like Au–ZnO heterodimer nanoparticles were effectively employed as a sensor for the nonenzymatic determination of glucose (GLU) in a Au–ZnO/MWCNTs/GC modified electrode. This showed good sensitivity and a wide linear range of 19–291 μM with a sensitivity of 0.0447 μA μM−1 and a limit of detection of 0.19 μM. The resulting sensor displayed excellent repeatability and long-term stability.

TL;DR: Results indicate that the potent anti-inflammatory effect and therapeutic efficacy of Semecarpus anacardium LINN.
Abstract: The article relates to investigation of the anti-inflammatory effects of Semecarpus anacardium LINN. nut extract (SA), and also an anti-inflammatory drug, indomethacin, on carrageenan-induced paw edema and cotton pellet granuloma tests for their effects on acute and chronic phases of inflammation, respectively. The effect of SA on developing and developed adjuvant arthritis was also evaluated. SA significantly decreased the carrageenan-induced paw edema and cotton pellet granuloma. Indomethacin also decreased the acute and chronic phases of inflammation. SA decreased the adjuvant induced (arthritis) paw edema after the treatment, in both developing and developed adjuvant arthritis. These results indicate that the potent anti-inflammatory effect and therapeutic efficacy of Semecarpus anacardium LINN. nut extract against all phases of inflammation, is comparable to that of indomethacin.
