TL;DR: Sex appears to be important factor in self-medication patterns even in young adults, such as students, and the physicians should actively seek the presence of self-Medication in this population.
Abstract: Self-medication patterns in adults depend on sex. Self-medication among students is very common, but little is known about the influence of sex. The aim of the study was to determine the incidence of self-medication college students and to determine the effect of sex on self-medication patterns. A web based incidence study conducted on a sample of Slovenian university students. The main outcome measures were percentages of male and female students reporting the use of self-medication in the past year. A majority of students (92.3%) reported the use of some sort of self-medication in the past year. Most female students (94.1%) and most male students (90.9%) reported the use of self-medication in the past year. The difference was not statistically significant. More female students than male ones (p < 0.05) acquired the drugs for self-medication in pharmacies, used OTC drugs, herbal teas, herbs, vitamins and minerals, remedies for muscle mass gain, antibiotics, benzodiazepines, antacids, acetylsalicylic acid, topical corticosteroids, and nasal decongestives only with the advice of physicians or pharmacists, and thought that increasing drug dosage can be dangerous, that in case of side effects physicians' help must be sought, that no drug can be used during pregnancy, and that self-treatment can mask the symptoms and signs of diseases so the physicians can overlook them easily. Sex appears to be important factor in self-medication patterns even in young adults, such as students. The physicians should actively seek the presence of self-medication in this population. Inappropriate or unsafe use should be properly addressed and managed.

TL;DR: It is revealed that appropriately tuned delays can induce stochastic multiresonances, appearing at every integer multiple of the pacemaker’s oscillation period.
Abstract: The stochastic resonance in paced time-delayed scale-free FitzHugh–Nagumo (FHN) neuronal networks is investigated. We show that an intermediate intensity of additive noise is able to optimally assist the pacemaker in imposing its rhythm on the whole ensemble. Furthermore, we reveal that appropriately tuned delays can induce stochastic multiresonances, appearing at every integer multiple of the pacemaker’s oscillation period. We conclude that fine-tuned delay lengths and locally acting pacemakers are vital for ensuring optimal conditions for stochastic resonance on complex neuronal networks.

TL;DR: In this article, the energy efficiency model for the mini-load AS/RS is presented and discussed according to global trends in material handling and warehousing, the design process should encompass not only the application of the equipment with fastest drives but also consider the energy and environment aspect on the installed equipment.
Abstract: In this paper, the energy efficiency model for the mini-load AS/RS is presented As the existing models of AS/RS apply to already well-known objectives (minimum travel time, maximum throughput and minimum cost), the energy efficiency model for the mini-load AS/RS is proposed and discussed According to global trends in material handling and warehousing, the design process should encompass not only the application of the equipment with fastest drives but should also consider the energy and environment aspect on the installed equipment The proposed energy efficiency model for the mini-load AS/RS enables reduction of energy consumption and consequently the CO2 emission, which is good from the economic and environmental point of view We sincerely hope that the energy and environment aspect will indubitably bring changes into planning of warehouses and will mean great challenge for those who are engaged in the planning process

TL;DR: Female participants are more familiar with the term 'online social network' and are also more frequent users, compared to male participants, and age, gender and education seem to be the most important factors having a direct or indirect impact on the use of online social networks by active older Internet users.
