TL;DR: It is found that AILTs are closer to activated CD4(+), rather than to resting or CD8(+) lymphocytes, and that nuclear factor-kappaB activation is uncommon in AILT, as suggested by frequent exclusively cytoplasmic c-REL localization.
Abstract: Angioimmunoblastic lymphoma (AILT) is the second most common subtype of peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) and is characterized by dismal prognosis. Thus far, only a few studies have dealt with its molecular pathogenesis. We performed gene expression profile (GEP) analysis of six AILT, six anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCL), 28 PTCL-unspecified (PTCL/U), and 20 samples of normal T lymphocytes (including CD4 + , CD8 + , and activated and resting subpopulations), aiming to ( a ) assess the relationship of AILT with other PTCLs, ( b ) establish the relationship between AILT and normal T-cell subsets, and ( c ) recognize the cellular programs deregulated in AILT possibly looking for novel potential therapeutic targets. First, we found that AILT and other PTCLs have rather similar GEP, possibly sharing common oncogenic pathways. Second, we found that AILTs are closer to activated CD4 + , rather than to resting or CD8 + lymphocytes. Furthermore, we found that the molecular signature of follicular T helper cells was significantly overexpressed in AILT, reinforcing the idea that AILT may arise from such cellular counterpart. Finally, we identified several genes deregulated in AILT, including PDGFRA, REL , and VEGF . The expression of several molecules was then studied by immunohistochemistry on tissue microarrays containing 45 independent AILT cases. Notably, we found that the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) was expressed not only by reactive cells, but also by neoplastic cells, and that nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) activation is uncommon in AILT, as suggested by frequent exclusively cytoplasmic c-REL localization. Our study provides new relevant information on AILT biology and new candidates for possible therapeutic targets such as PDGFRA (platelet-derived growth factor α) and VEGF. TL;DR: Pharmacological evidence is given that g7-Np are able to cross the Blood Brain Barrier, ensuring, for the first time, a sustained release of the embedded drug, and that these Np are unable to reach all the brain areas here examined.

TL;DR: The approach provides an example where an ACO algorithm successfully combines two completely different heuristic measures (with respect to loading and routing) within one pheromone matrix, which clearly outperforms previous heuristics from the literature.

TL;DR: In this paper, the Bank of Italy-CEPR project is used to construct a monthly coincident indicator of the business cycle of the euro area, which is estimated on the basis of a harmonized data set of monthly statistics.
Abstract: This Paper is the result of the Bank of Italy-CEPR project to construct a monthly coincident indicator of the business cycle of the euro area. The index is estimated on the basis of a harmonized data set of monthly statistics of the euro area (951 series) which we constructed from a variety of sources. We use the information of this large panel to obtain an indicator which has three characteristics: (i) it provides real time information on monthly coincident activity since it is updated as new information become available in a non-synchronous way; (ii) it is cleaned from noise originated from measurement error and idiosyncratic national and sectoral dynamics; (iii) it is cleaned from seasonal and short-run dynamics through a filter that requires very little revision at the end of the sample. Unlike other methods used in the literature, the procedure takes into consideration the cross-country as well as the within-country correlation structure and exploits all information on dynamic cross-correlations. As a by product of our analysis, we provide a characterization of the commonality and dynamic relations of the series in the data set with respect to the coincident indicator and a dating of the euro area cycle.

TL;DR: In this paper, the wear resistance of plasma-sprayed ceramics has been investigated through pin-on-disk and dry sand-steel wheel tests, has been correlated to microstructural and micromechanical characteristics (microhardness, fracture toughness) and has been compared to well-known platings (such as Cr electroplating and electroless Ni).
