TL;DR: In this paper, the concurrent rates of reaction and densification during hot-pressing of mixtures of alumina and zircon powders were measured in terms of a liquid-phase sintering model and evidence was presented for separable stages of particle rearrangement, diffusion-controlled densification and residual reaction subsequent to attainment of zero porosity.
Abstract: Measurements have been made of the concurrent rates of reaction and of densification during the hot-pressing of mixtures of alumina and zircon powders. The results can be interpreted in terms of a liquid-phase sintering model and evidence is presented for separable stages of particle rearrangement, diffusion-controlled densification and residual reaction subsequent to attainment of zero porosity.

TL;DR: In this article, simultaneous densification kinetics and reaction kinetics during the sintering and hot pressing of alumina-zircon mixtures were studied and it was possible to distinguish between the particle rearrangement and particle reshaping (diffusive) stages of the densification process.
Abstract: By studying simultaneous densification kinetics and reaction kinetics during the sintering and hot pressing of alumina-zircon mixtures, it has been possible to distinguish between the particle rearrangement and particle reshaping (diffusive) stages of the densification process. Particle rearrangement is found to be more significant during hot pressing (20 MN m−2) and is the dominant mechanism at relative densities up to 72%. In pressureless sintering, diffusive processes become dominant above relative densities of about 62%.

TL;DR: The general homogeneous potentials, solutions of Yang-Mills gauge theories, are given for any space-time metric (SO(4), SO(3, 1) or SO(2, 2)) and SU(2), SU(1, 1), or E(2) gauge groups.

TL;DR: [1-N4-Dimethyl-asparagine]-angiotensin II was synthesized by Merrifield's solid-phase procedure and gave rat blood pressure about 70% relative potency to Hypertensin (Ciba).
Abstract: [1-N4-Dimethyl-asparagine]-angiotensin II was synthesized by Merrifield's solid-phase procedure. The analogue gave rat blood pressure about 70% relative potency to Hypertensin (Ciba). Rabbit aorta strips gave intrinsic activity αE=1, a PD2 of 6.92±0.09 and an affinity relative to [Asn1]-angiotensin II of 6.5%.

TL;DR: In this article, the linear stability of the pipe Poiseuille flow including viscous heating was investigated with respect to axisymmetric disturbances, taking also into account, in contradistinction with our previous work, temperature fluctuations.

TL;DR: In this article, strong laser beam direction vs crystal orientation dependence of double-beam photoemission spectra is reported in trigonal tellurium, due to the large anisotropy of the electron escape probability function in such low symmetry materials, rather than specific laser polarization effects.
