TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed over 1500 ground-borne vibration records, at 17 high speed rail sites, across 7 European countries and found that soil material properties are the most influential parameter that effect vibration levels while the effect of train speed is low.

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis and characterization of solution processable donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) based conjugated molecules with varying ratios of thiophene as donor and benzothiadiazole as acceptor (A) are reported.
Abstract: The synthesis and characterization of solution processable donor–acceptor–donor (D–A–D) based conjugated molecules with varying ratios of thiophene as donor (D) and benzothiadiazole as acceptor (A) are reported. Optical, electrochemical, thermal, morphological and organic thin film transistor (OTFT) device properties of these materials were investigated. The thermal and polarized optical microscope analysis indicates that the materials having higher D/A ratios exhibit both liquid crystalline (LC) and OTFT behavior. AFM analysis of the materials having D/A ratios of 3 and 4 (3T1B and 4T1B) show well ordered structures, resulting from strong π–π interchain interactions compared to the other molecules in this study. A XRD patterns for 3T1B and 4T1B thin films also shows high crystalline ordering. Solution processed OTFTs of 3T1B and 4T1B have shown un-optimized charge carrier mobilities of 2 × 10−2 cm2V−1 s−1 and 4 × 10−3 cm2V−1 s−1, respectively on bare Si/SiO2 substrate.

TL;DR: This study shows that in vivo 1H MRI/MRS examinations of breast tumors can be performed within an examination time of 45 to 60 minutes, and signals from breast tumor metabolites may be detected using in vivo1H MRS.
Abstract: Image-guided localized proton MR spectroscopy (MRS) of normal breasts and breast tumors (ductal and undifferentiated carcinomas) was performed using a dedicated double breast coil. In vivo 1H MR spectra from 10 normal volunteers showed signals from water and lipids only, even in breasts with small contribution of fatty breast tissue. In the spectra from 6 of the 12 examined patients, an intense signal assigned to choline compounds was detected. The signal was also detected at lower levels in the remaining patients. This study shows that in vivo 1H MRI/MRS examinations of breast tumors can be performed within an examination time of 45 to 60 minutes. Signals from breast tumor metabolites may be detected using in vivo 1H MRS.

TL;DR: In this paper, Steenbrugge et al. showed that strong O VII and O VIII edges are almost ubiquitous in the spectra of Seyfert 1 galaxies which have been used to predict of a warm dust absorber along the line of sight.
Abstract: The high spectral resolutions of the Chandra and XMM-Newton X-ray observatories have unveiled the useful diagnostic possibilities of oxygen K absorption. To mention a few, strong O VII and O VIII edges are almost ubiquitous in the spectra of Seyfert 1 galaxies which have been used by Lee et al. (2001) to predict of a warm dust absorber along the line of sight; although this conclusion has been criticized in the light of a data reanalysis (SA0 et al. 2003), Steenbrugge et al. (2003) have detected inner-shell transitions of O III-O VI in the spectrum of NGC 5548 that point to a warm absorber that spans three orders of magnitude in ionization parameter. Moreover, Behar et al. (2003) have stressed that, in the case of both Seyfert 1 and Seyfert 2 galaxies, a broad range of oxygen charge states are usually observed along the line of sight that must be fitted simultaneously, and may imply strong density gradients of 2-4 orders of magnitude over short distances.
