TL;DR: This article interpreted both the style of deformation in northeast China and the stability of southeast China as consequences of the India-Eurasia collision and the presumably relatively small compressive stress transmitted across the island arcs of the western Pacific.
Abstract: The active tectonics of northeast China is dominated by strike-slip and normal faulting, with right-lateral motion on north-northeast-trending planes, left-lateral motion on west-northwest-trending planes, and extension in approximately a north-northwest direction. Southeast China, however, is relatively stable. We interpret both the style of deformation in northeast China and the stability of southeast China as consequences of the India-Eurasia collision and the presumably relatively small compressive stress transmitted across the island arcs of the western Pacific. The relationship of the stress field and deformation in eastern China to the India-Eurasia collision are analogous to those in a laterally bounded rigid-plastic medium indented by a rigid die (India).

TL;DR: The effects of isoprenaline and salbutamol on these preparations were suppressed by propranolol and Phenoxybenzamine enhanced the adrenaline-induced stimulation and transformed the inhibition of the second phase into strong stimulation; propr ethanol accentuated the inhibitory effect of adrenaline.
Abstract: Our experiments were carried outin vitro on different isolated and perfused pancreas preparations: adult rat pancreas, newborn dog pancreas, uncinate process and splenic portion of adult dog pancreas. The perfusion liquid contained 1.5 g/l glucose. 1) L-isoprenaline (0.05 µM), a stimulating agent of the β-adrenergic receptors, provoked only a slight and brief stimulation of insulin secretion from the rat pancreas. At the same concentration, this substance provoked a considerable stimulation of the insulin secreting cell of the newborn dog pancreas and a still much more marked response from the uncinate process and the splenic portion of adult dog pancreas. The effects of salbutamol (0.09 µM), a stimulating agent of the β-adrenergic receptors, were comparable to those of isoprenaline. The effects of isoprenaline and salbutamol on these preparations were suppressed by propranolol. 2) As to the effects of L-adrenaline on these different preparations, the following results have been recorded: a) Adrenaline (0.011 µM) inhibited insulin secretion by rat pancreas; this effect was suppressed by phenoxybenzamine; it was not modified by propranolol. — b) Adrenaline (0.011 µM) exerted an inhibitory effect on newborn dog pancreas, but only temporarily. Phenoxybenzamine inversed the effects of adrenaline and allowed the appearance of stimulation of insulin secretion; propranolol accentuated the inhibitory effect of adrenaline. — c) On the uncinate process of the adult dog pancreas adrenaline (0.011 µM) provoked a biphasic effect: brief and strong rise of insulin secretion followed by slight inhibition. Phenoxybenzamine enhanced the adrenaline-induced stimulation and transformed the inhibition of the second phase into strong stimulation. Propranolol suppressed the stimulatory effect of adrenaline which then had only an immediate and strong inhibitory effect. Adrenaline at 0.055 µM concentration provoked an extremely brief hypersecretion peak which was less intense than that recorded when using the 5-times weaker concentration; this peak was followed by strong and lasting inhibition.

TL;DR: The batholite de San Ramon as discussed by the authors is composed of a gros grains ou porphyroide, a biotite and parfois hornblende, de teinte rouge a grise.

Abstract: Caledogonia globosa gen. et sp. nov. is considered to be a member of the Myophoriidae following the classification of Newell & Boyd (1975). It is a more evolved genus than Agonisca Fleming from the Ladinian of New Zealand. Both are probably the descendants of Neoschizodus of the Andean-West Antarctic region, a dispersal route on the southern Gondwanaland coastline. Caledogonia was probably a rapid burrower in a high energy paleoenvironment. It occurs in a rhythmic sequence of greywackes and conglomeratic shell beds that lie on pre-Triassic basement. Like the associated bivalves, Maoritrigonia and Manticula, Caledogonia is an endemic genus of the Late Triassic Maorian Province.

TL;DR: Electrolytic bilateral lesions of the nuclei habenulae were made in male, adult photostimulated quail, and Habenular destruction led to a marked decrease in the plasma thyroxine level, whereas sham operated birds did not differ from controls.
Abstract: Electrolytic bilateral lesions of th nuclei habenulae were made in male, adult photostimulated quail. Habenular destruction led to a marked decrease in the plasma thyroxine level (40%), whereas sham operated birds did not differ from controls. This result appears to be somewhat different from those obtained in mammals and the mechanisms of habenular-thyroid interrelationships are unknown.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of mesures permettant de mesurer ces quantites and determiner the relation fondamentale entre la vitesse de propagation des fractures and KI.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider vector measures with bounded variation, and present some properties related to such measures, including a topological property which extends a well known theorem concerning the narrow topology related to scalar bounded measures.
Abstract: In this paper, we consider vector measures with bounded variation, and we will present some properties related to such measures. We begin in Theorem 1 with a topological property, which extends a well known theorem concerning the narrow topology related to scalar bounded measures. As a consequence of the previous theorem, follows in Theorem 2 a generalization of a recent result from Olech [5], which leads to a characterization of certain closed sets of vector integrable mappings (Corollary 2). Other corollaries which can also be deduced from Theorem 2 are presented; and in the last paragraph an application of the previous theorems is considered, which deals with an order relation between positive Radon measures on the unit sphere of Rn and extends Rost’s result [6].
