TL;DR: In this paper, an exploratory examination of the social perception of a rape victim was conducted by having subjects respond to a standardized videotape of an interview with a presumed victim, which revealed two consistent findings: males viewed the victim as contributing to the rape to a greater degree than females.
Abstract: An exploratory examination of the social perception of a rape victim was conducted. Sex of respondent, victim's history of rape, number of rapes in the area, and victim acquaintance with the rapist were investigated by having subjects respond to a standardized videotape of an interview with a presumed victim. Results revealed two consistent findings: Males viewed the victim as contributing to the rape to a greater degree than females. The victim was seen as provoking the episode to a greater degree when she had been raped before than when she had not been raped before. Several interactions were also obtained.

TL;DR: The paper takes issue with the traditional view of Darwin's influence on psychology; namely, that it is he who passed on to psychology the concept of individual adaptation.
Abstract: The paper takes issue with the traditional view of Darwin's influence on psychology; namely, that it is he who passed on to psychology the concept of individual adaptation. Three arguments are presented: a) that Darwin, qua scientist, was only interested in species adaptation, an entirely different concept from that of individual adaptation, b) that Darwin's writings on individual adaptation are so unexceptional that it is inconceivable that psychologists should have been influenced by them and c) that the two concepts are logically incompatible since species adaptation presupposes a strict hereditary determinism, while individual adaptation conceives of the organism either as free and undetermined or else as determined by the environment.

TL;DR: The authors investigated the effects of a human sexuality course on American college and university campuses and found that human sexuality courses on American colleges and universities lead to a "sexual revolution" on American society.
Abstract: One aspect of the “sexual revolution” has been the introduction of human sexuality courses on American college and university campuses. This study investigated the effects of a human sexuality cour...

TL;DR: In this article, an approximate solution of a transient heat transfer in straight fins of a constant cross-sectional area, constant physical and thermal properties is obtained by the Kantorovich method in the variational formulation in a much simpler expression than in its exact form of solution.

TL;DR: The authors compared the sexual permissiveness of sex-integrated dormitory living with sex-segregated living by collecting data, using a before-after design, from a probability sample of 245 students enrolled at a Southeastern state-supported university.
Abstract: This study compared the sexual permissiveness of sex-integrated dormitory living with sex-segregated dormitory living by collecting data, using a before-after design, from a probability sample of 245 students enrolled at a Southeastern state-supported university. The self-administered question naire, which included a Guttman-type scale on sexual permissiveness, was completed early in and again near theend of the 1972-1973 school year. While no significant differences were found in the sexual permissiveness of sex-in-tegrated and sex-segregated dormitory students early in the school year, sex-integrated dormitory students were characterized by greater sexual permissiveness at the end of the year.

TL;DR: 87% of the small, public coeducational community/junior colleges in the United States, having total student enrollments of 5,000 or fewer students, reported that they provided student counseling services.
Abstract: 87% of the small, public coeducational community/junior colleges in the United States, having total student enrollments of 5,000 or fewer students, reported that they provided student counseling services. The median ratio was 1 counselor per 338 students; education counseling was reported to be the primary service rendered, while job-placement counseling was seen as the least important function of the counseling center. Of the institutions responding, 77% provide counseling services to nonstudents, and 37% indicated that vocational counseling was the area in which they most needed to improve services for students.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered scattering theory for a pair of time dependent nonlinear evolution equations, and sufficient conditions were given for the existence of the forward wave operators, and an approximation theory for the forwards wave operators was also developed.
