Abstract: Although organizational justice scholars often describe unfairness as an emotionally laden experience, the role of emotion is underresearched. In a study of individuals who experienced being laid off (N = 173), the authors found that outcome favorability interacts with both procedural and interactional justice to predict participants' emotions. The pattern of interaction differed for inward-focused (i.e., shame and guilt) and outward-focused (i.e., anger and hostility) negative emotions. Attributions of blame mediated the relationship between fairness perceptions and outward-focused negative emotion. Outward-focused emotion mediated the relationship between fairness perceptions and retaliation.

Abstract: This review addresses major questions about divorce, around which much contemporary research is oriented. These involve questions of the consequences of divorce for the adjustment of children and the vulnerability and resiliency of children in coping with divorce, whether children are better off in a conflictual intact family situation or a divorced family, and how mothers, fathers, and clinical or educational interventions can moderate the effects of divorce. Although research in the past decade has yielded considerable information about these questions, issues that need further investigation are also presented.

Abstract: Whereas a number of studies have considered the implications of employee mobility, comparatively little research has considered institutional factors governing the ability of employees to move from one firm to another. This paper explores a legal constraint on mobility---employee non-compete agreements---by exploiting Michigan's apparently inadvertent 1985 reversal of its non-compete enforcement policy as a natural experiment. Using a differences-in-differences approach, and controlling for changes in the auto industry central to Michigan's economy, we find that the enforcement of non-competes indeed attenuates mobility. Moreover, non-compete enforcement decreases mobility more sharply for inventors with firm-specific skills and for those who specialize in narrow technical fields. The results speak to the literature on employee mobility while offering a credibly exogenous source of variation that can extend previous research on the implications of such mobility.

Abstract: Static configurations serve great advantage for adversaries in discovering network targets and launching attacks. Identifying active IP addresses in a target domain is a precursory step for many attacks. Frequently changing hosts' IP addresses is a novel proactive moving target defense (MTD) that hides network assets from external/internal scanners. In this paper, we use OpenFlow to develop a MTD architecture that transparently mutates host IP addresses with high unpredictability and rate, while maintaining configuration integrity and minimizing operation overhead. The presented technique is called OpenFlow Random Host Mutation (OF-RHM) in which the OpenFlow controller frequently assigns each host a random virtual IP that is translated to/from the real IP of the host. The real IP remains untouched, so IP mutation is completely transparent for end-hosts. Named hosts are reachable via the virtual IP addresses acquired via DNS, but real IP addresses can be only reached by authorized entities. Our implementation and evaluation show that OF-RHM can effectively defend against stealthy scanning, worm propagation, and other scanning-based attack.

Abstract: This article analyzes how race has been studied in organization scholarship and demonstrates how our approaches to the study at race reflect and reify particular historical and social meanings of race. It is argued that the production of knowledge about race must be understood within a racial ideology embedded in a Eurocentric view of the world. Finally, a “re-vision” of the very concept of race and its historical and political meaning is suggested for rewriting “race” as a necessary and productive analytical category for tpropheorizing about organizations.
