TL;DR: In this article, the biexciton is induced via a coherent two-photon process and the measured population oscillation is not purely sinusoidal in excitation pulse area.
Abstract: We report on Rabi oscillations of the biexciton in a single ${\mathrm{In}}_{x}{\mathrm{Ga}}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}\mathrm{As}∕\mathrm{Ga}\mathrm{As}$ quantum dot, induced via a coherent two-photon process. In contrast to single-exciton Rabi oscillations the measured population oscillation is not purely sinusoidal in excitation pulse area. The experimental results are well reproduced by a theoretical calculation that relies only on the pulse shape and biexciton binding energy. Dephasing times of the biexciton are similar to those of the single exciton under the applied measurement conditions reaching up to $220\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{ps}$.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report the results of a longitudinal study based on panel data of 414 companies in the German mechanical engineering industry collected over a five-year period and provide empirical evidence for the causality between service infusion strategies and manufacturers' profit trajectories.

TL;DR: A new set-oriented numerical method for the numerical solution of multiobjective optimization problems that allow to approximate the entire set of (global) Pareto points and proves convergence of an associated abstract subdivision procedure.
Abstract: In this work, we present a new set-oriented numerical method for the numerical solution of multiobjective optimization problems. These methods are global in nature and allow to approximate the entire set of (global) Pareto points. After proving convergence of an associated abstract subdivision procedure, we use this result as a basis for the development of three different algorithms. We consider also appropriate combinations of them in order to improve the total performance. Finally, we illustrate the efficiency of these techniques via academic examples plus a real technical application, namely, the optimization of an active suspension system for cars.

TL;DR: An effective way for broadband holographic multiplexing based on geometric metasurfaces is demonstrated by the integration of several recording channels into a single device, paving the way for a wide range of applications related to optical patterning, encryption, and information processing.
Abstract: An effective way for broadband holographic multiplexing based on geometric metasurfaces is demonstrated by the integration of several recording channels into a single device. Each image can be individually addressed with a unique set of parameters, such as circular polarization, position, and angle. Such a technique paves the way for a wide range of applications related to optical patterning, encryption, and information processing.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluate the effectiveness of Hartz reforms in speeding up the matching process between unemployed and vacant jobs and find that the reforms indeed had an impact in making the labor market more dynamic and accelerating the matching processes.
Abstract: Starting in January 2003, Germany implemented the first two so-calledHartz reforms, followed by the third and fourth packages of Hartzreforms in January 2004 and January 2005, respectively. The aim of thesereforms was to accelerate labor market flows and reduce unemploymentduration. Without attempting to evaluate the specific components ofthese Hartz reforms, this paper provides a first attempt to evaluate theoverall effectiveness of the first two reform waves, Hartz I/II and III,in speeding up the matching process between unemployed and vacant jobs. The analysis is conceptually rooted in the flow-based view underlyingthe reforms, estimating the structural features of the matching process. The results indicate that the reforms indeed had an impact in making thelabor market more dynamic and accelerating the matching process.
