TL;DR: The data revealed that reversible sterility could be induced in male rats by papaya seeds aqueous extract treatment without adverse effects on libido and toxicological profile.
Abstract: The influence of the crude aqueous extract of Carica papaya L. (Caricaceae) seeds has been studied on semen profile, fertility, body and organ weight response, and toxicology in male albino rats. The extract was administered at the dose regimens of 10 and 50 mg/animal/day orally for 30, 60, and 90 days and 0.1 and 1.0 mg/animal/day intramuscularly for 15 and 30 days. Cauda epididymal sperm motility and count was reduced significantly at low and high dose regimens both in the oral as well as the intramuscular groups. The reduced sperm motility was associated with morphological defects. Testicular sperm counts were also reduced in all the treatment groups except the low dose intramuscular group. Fertility tests showed dose- and duration-dependent reduction and zero fertility was observed at high dose regimens of the oral and intramuscular groups following 60 and 30 days of treatment, respectively. Testicular weight was reduced in all the treatment groups, whereas accessory sex organs showed a variable response. Body weight and toxicological observations did not show any untoward response. Fertility and all other associated changes returned to normal within 45 and 30 days of treatment cessation in the oral and intramuscular groups, respectively. The data revealed that reversible sterility could be induced in male rats by papaya seeds aqueous extract treatment without adverse effects on libido and toxicological profile.

TL;DR: In this article, the azimuthal anisotropy parameter v_2 was measured for all hadron species at mid-rapidity for Au+Au collisions at square root sNN=62.4 and 200 GeV.
Abstract: We present STAR measurements of the azimuthal anisotropyparameter v_2 for pions, kaons, protons, Lambda, bar Lambda, Xi+bar Xi,and \Omega + bar Omega, along with v_4 for pions, kaons, protons, andLambda + bar Lambda at mid-rapidity for Au+Au collisions at sqrt sNN=62.4and 200 GeV. The v_2(p_T) values for all hadron species at 62.4 GeV aresimilar to those observed in 130 and 200 GeV collisions. For observedkinematic ranges, v_2 values at 62.4, 130, and 200 GeV are as little as10 percent-15 percent larger than those in Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt s NN=17.3 GeV. At intermediate transverse momentum (p_T from 1.5-5 GeV/c),the 62.4 GeV v_2(p_T) and v_4(p_T) values are consistent with thequark-number scaling first observed at 200 GeV. A four-particle cumulantanalysis is used to assess the non-flow contributions to pions andprotons and some indications are found for a smaller non-flowcontribution to protons than pions. Baryon v_2 is larger than anti-baryonv_2 at 62.4 and 200 GeV perhaps indicating either that the initialspatial net-baryon distribution is anisotropic, that the mechanismleading to transport of baryon number from beam- to mid-rapidity enhancesv_2, or that anti-baryon and baryon annihilation is larger in thein-plane direction.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of low temperature annealing on the physical properties of ZnO thin films for photovoltaic applications is presented. And the experimental results reveal that the films are uniform, homogeneous and free from crystal defects and voids.

TL;DR: In this paper, 2-Mercapto-2-thiono-1,3,2-dioxaphospholanes and dioxaphophosphorinanes, have been synthesized by the reactions of phosphorus pentasulphide with some 1, 2-diols.
Abstract: 2-Mercapto-2-thiono-1,3,2-dioxaphospholanes and dioxaphosphorinanes, have been synthesized by the reactions of phosphorus pentasulphide with some 1,2-diols (viz., butane-2,3-diol and 2,3-dimethylbutane-2,3-diol) and 1,3-diols (viz., 2-methylpentane-2,4-diol, 2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diol and 2,2-diethylpropane-1,3-diol) in 1:2 molar ratio in dry benzene. These volatile compounds have been purified by distillation under reduced pressure. The 2-methylpentane-2,4-diol derivative, however, decomposed during attempted distillations. These new compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, molecular weight determinations, measurement of pK a values and IR as well as NMR spectroscopic studies. The ammonium and sodium salts of some of these acids have also been characterized.
