TL;DR: In this article, a method for estimating critical temperatures (Tb) of thermal explosion for energetic materials is derived from Semenov's thermal explosion theory and the non-isothermal kinetic equation dα/dt = Af(α)e−E/RT using reasonable hypotheses.

TL;DR: A H 2 O 2 /O 2 self-supplying nanoagent, (MSNs@CaO 2 -ICG)@LA, which consists of manganese silicate-supported calcium peroxide and indocyanine green with further surface modification of phase-change material lauric acid, is reported, which is effective in inhibiting tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo.
Abstract: The therapeutic effect of reactive oxygen species (ROS)-involved cancer therapies is significantly limited by shortage of oxy-substrates, such as hypoxia in photodynamic therapy (PDT) and insufficient hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in chemodynamic therapy (CDT). Here, we report a H2O2/O2 self-supplying nanoagent, (MSNs@CaO2-ICG)@LA, which consists of manganese silicate (MSN)-supported calcium peroxide (CaO2) and indocyanine green (ICG) with further surface modification of phase-change material lauric acid (LA). Under laser irradiation, ICG simultaneously generates singlet oxygen and emits heat to melt the LA. The exposed CaO2 reacts with water to produce O2 and H2O2 for hypoxia-relieved ICG-mediated PDT and H2O2-supplying MSN-based CDT, acting as an open source strategy for ROS production. Additionally, the MSNs-induced glutathione depletion protects ROS from scavenging, termed reduce expenditure. This open source and reduce expenditure strategy is effective in inhibiting tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo, and significantly improves ROS generation efficiency from multi-level for ROS-involved cancer therapies.

TL;DR: In this paper, thiourea is introduced into the CH3NH3PbI3 precursor with two-step sequential EA interfacial processing for the first time to grow compact microsized and monolithically grained perovskite films.
Abstract: The synthesis and growth of perovskite films with controlled crystallinity and microstructure for highly efficient and stable solar cells is a critical issue. In this work, thiourea is introduced into the CH3NH3PbI3 precursor with two-step sequential ethyl acetate (EA) interfacial processing. This is shown for the first time to grow compact microsized and monolithically grained perovskite films. X-ray diffraction patterns and infrared spectroscopy are used to prove that thiourea significantly impacts the perovskite crystallinity and morphology by forming the intermediate phase MAI·PbI2·SC(NH2)2. Afterward, the residual thiourea which coursed charge recombination is completely extracted by the sequential EA processing. The product has improved light harvesting, suppressed defect state, and enhanced charge separation and transport. The sequentially EA processed perovskite solar cells offer an impressive 18.46% power conversion efficiency and excellent stability in ambient air. More importantly, the EA postprocessed perovskite solar cells also have excellent voltage response under ultraweak light (0.05% sun) with promising utility in photodetectors and photoelectric sensors.

TL;DR: A super-valent battery based on aluminium ion intercalation and deintercalation is proposed in this work with VO2 as cathode and high-purity Al foil as anode with the potential to deliver more charges and gain higher specific capacity.
Abstract: Due to their small footprint and flexible siting, rechargeable batteries are attractive for energy storage systems. A super-valent battery based on aluminium ion intercalation and deintercalation is proposed in this work with VO2 as cathode and high-purity Al foil as anode. First-principles calculations are also employed to theoretically investigate the crystal structure change and the insertion-extraction mechanism of Al ions in the super-valent battery. Long cycle life, low cost and good capacity are achieved in this battery system. At the current density of 50 mAg−1, the discharge capacity remains 116 mAhg−1 after 100 cycles. Comparing to monovalent Li-ion battery, the super-valent battery has the potential to deliver more charges and gain higher specific capacity.
