TL;DR: In this article, an information gap decision theory (IGDT)-based risk-constrained bidding/offering strategy for a merchant compressed air energy storage (CAES) plant that participates in the day-ahead energy markets considering price forecasting errors is proposed.
Abstract: Electricity price forecasts are imperfect. Therefore, a merchant energy storage facility requires a bidding and offering strategy for purchasing and selling the electricity to manage the risk associated with price forecast errors. This paper proposes an information gap decision theory (IGDT)-based risk-constrained bidding/offering strategy for a merchant compressed air energy storage (CAES) plant that participates in the day-ahead energy markets considering price forecasting errors. Price uncertainty is modeled using IGDT. The IGDT-based self-scheduling formulation is then used to construct separate hourly bidding and offering curves. The theoretical approach to develop the proposed strategy is presented and validated using numerical simulations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the water vapor permeability (WVP), contact angle and microstructure of the zein films were studied and the results showed that the pure zein film had high WVP and adding of sugars to 0.7 g/g zein caused a decrease of WVP.
Abstract: Sugars are natural plasticizers for food biopolymers and zein is the most important protein of corn. In this research, sugars (fructose, galactose and glucose) were used as plasticizers and the water vapor permeability (WVP), contact angle and microstructure of the zein films were studied. The pure zein film had high WVP and adding of sugars to 0.7 g/g zein caused to decrease of WVP. Films containing galactose had the lowest WVP. All samples had the lowest contact angle with ethanol and the highest contact angle with water. The zein films containing galactose had the highest water contact angle within the plasticized films. The pure zein films and the films containing fructose had higher critical surface tension of wetting (γc) than the films containing glucose and galactose. Adding sugar plasticizer to zein films increased the surface tension of zein films. In the unplasticized zein films, loose structures with a lot of cavities and voids were observed. The films plasticized by fructose had smooth surface and plasticizer particles distributed throughout of the films.

TL;DR: Fuzzy-set logic is used to account for imprecision and uncertainty in data while employing event-tree analysis and permits an analysis of the qualitative evaluation of the event tree to gain the quantitative results.
Abstract: A method is presented for dealing with event-tree analysis under uncertainty. Fuzzy-set logic is used to account for imprecision and uncertainty in data while employing event-tree analysis. The fuzzy event-tree logic allows the use of verbal statements for the probabilities and consequences, such as very high, moderate, and low probability. The technique permits an analysis of the qualitative evaluation of the event tree to gain the quantitative results. The application of fuzzy event trees is further demonstrated by using a set of event trees for an electric power protection system to assess the viability of the method in complex situations. >

TL;DR: This article focused on of the most common plants which are regularly used to synthesize MNPs along with various methods for synthesizing MNPs from plant extracts.
Abstract: Metal nanoparticles (MNPs) produced by green approaches have received global attention because of their physicochemical characteristics and their applications in the field of biotechnology In recent years, the development of synthesizing NPs by plant extracts has become a major focus of researchers because of these NPs have low hazardous effect in the environment and low toxicity for the human body Synthesized NPs from plants are not only more stable in terms of size and shape, also the yield of this method is higher than the other methods Moreover, some of these MNPs have shown antimicrobial activity which is consistently confirmed in past few years Plant extracts have been used as reducing agent and stabilizer of NPs in which we can reduce the toxicity in the environment as well as the human body only by not using chemical agents Furthermore, the presence of some specific materials in plant extracts could be extremely helpful and effective for the human body; for instance, polyphenol, which may have antioxidant effects has the capability for capturing free radicals before they can react with other biomolecules and cause serious damages In this article, we focused on of the most common plants which are regularly used to synthesize MNPs along with various methods for synthesizing MNPs from plant extracts
