TL;DR: In this paper, the spatial distribution of long-term fire patterns versus physical and anthropogenic elements of the environment that determine wildfire dynamics in Greece was investigated. But the authors focused on spatial distribution was not the most influential factors for explaining landscape wildfire dynamics.
Abstract: This paper focuses on spatial distribution of long-term fire patterns versus physical and anthropogenic elements of the environment that determine wildfire dynamics in Greece. Logistic regression and correspondence analysis were applied in a spatial database that had been developed and managed within a Geographic Information System. Cartographic fire data were statistically correlated with basic physical and human geography factors (geomorphology, climate, land use and human activities) to estimate the degree of their influence at landscape scale. Land cover types of natural and agricultural vegetation were the most influential factors for explaining landscape wildfire dynamics in conjunction with topography and grazing.

TL;DR: This chapter aims to inform city tourism organizations responsible for the development of city portals about (a) the use of the major Web 2.0 tools in tourism and their impact on the tourism demand and supply; and (b) the ways and practices for integrating theUse of Web 2-0 into their e-business model and e-marketing practices.
Abstract: During the last decades, the use of Web 2.0 applications for the generation, dissemination, and sharing of user-generated content (UGC) and the creation of new value added services are enormous. Web 2.0 tools have tremendously changed the way people search, find, read, gather, share, develop, and consume information, as well as on the way people communicate with each other and collaboratively create new knowledge. UGC and Web 2.0 are also having a tremendous impact not only on the behaviour and decision-making of Internet users, but also on the e-business model that organizations need to develop and/or adapt in order to conduct business on the Internet. Organizations responsible to market and promote cities on the Internet are not an exception from these developments. This chapter aims to inform city tourism organizations responsible for the development of city portals about (a) the use of the major Web 2.0 tools in tourism and their impact on the tourism demand and supply; and (b) the ways and practices for integrating the use of Web 2.0 into their e-business model and e-marketing practices.

TL;DR: The main objective of this research is to propose a methodology that will support existing measurement framework(s) during the process of performance measurement systems' design, implementation and use, and to advance the decision‐making process.
Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this article is to address the measure selection problem and to propose the use of a multi‐criteria approach to address the problem more effectively. The main objective of this research is to propose a methodology (not a new performance measurement framework) that will support existing measurement framework(s) during the process of performance measurement systems' design, implementation and use, and to advance the decision‐making process.Design/methodology/approach – Conforming to the most favoured approach, the balanced scorecard is adopted to illustrate the proposed methodology. This paper briefly illustrates the application of the proposed methodology. This illustration is based on a real case study from a Greek financial institution, which has considered the proposed methodology in order to select appropriate measures. The paper begins with a brief literature review on the balanced scorecard, the theory of MCDM and smart technique. In section three the proposed methodology is ...
