TL;DR: In this article, the authors identify the importance that branch employees of Greek banks attach to the internet as a tool of marketing intelligence, and the factors that affect its acceptance as such a tool.
Abstract: Purpose – This paper aims to identify the importance that branch employees of Greek banks attach to the internet as a tool of marketing intelligence, and the factors that affect its acceptance as such a tool.Design/methodology/approach – Using the technology‐acceptance model (TAM) as a basis, a questionnaire is designed by the researchers, and completed by employees. Structural equation modelling (SEM) is used to analyse the data, and this confirms the relationships proposed by the TAM.Findings – The main findings of the study are that: branch employees of Greek banks feel that a marketing‐intelligence system is a prerequisite for effectiveness in their work; although the internet is the fourth‐most important source of market intelligence for branch employees of Greek banks, they require greater access to the internet to meet their market‐intelligence needs; perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of the internet directly affect bank employees' attitudes – which, in turn, affect the employees' inte...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the buffer allocation problem in short unbalanced production lines consisting of up to six machines that are subject to breakdowns and developed an algorithm based on the sectioning (segmentation) approach to solve the problem.

TL;DR: In this article, the Freyd categories of C were studied in the context of the module theory of triangulated categories, and their applications to the abelian or triangulation categories were discussed.
Abstract: To any additive category C, we associate in a functorial way two additive categories A(C), B(C). The category A(C), resp. B(C), is the re∞ection of C in the category of additive categories with cokernels, resp. kernels, and cokernel, resp. kernel, preserving functors. Then the iteration AB(C) is the re∞ection of C in the category of abelian categories and exact functors. We call A(C) and B(C) the Freyd categories of C since the flrst systematic study of these categories was done by Freyd in the mid-sixties. The purpose of the paper is to study further the Freyd categories and to indicate their applications to the module theory of an abelian or triangulated category.

TL;DR: The paper compares these effects with the ones of the hard ICT capital and also of four important “traditional” innovation determinants identified from previous research in this area (demand expectation, price and non-price competition, market concentration).
Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of four types of “soft” information and communication technologies (ICT) capital related to ICT knowledge and skills (ICT personnel, ICT training of ICT personnel and users, ICT unit) on the innovation performance of Greek firms. Furthermore, the paper compares these effects with the ones of the hard ICT capital and also of four important “traditional” innovation determinants identified from previous research in this area (demand expectation, price and non-price competition, market concentration). Design/methodology/approach – A quantitative methodology has been adopted for investigating the above effects, based on the estimation of regression models. Using data collected through a survey based on a structured questionnaire from 271 Greek firms, innovation models have been estimated, having as independent variables measures of hard ICT capital, the examined four types of soft ICT capital and also the above traditional innovation determinant...

TL;DR: Two laboratory scale fully aerated continuous flow wastewater treatment systems were used to compare the removal of five benzotriazoles and one benzothiazole by suspended and attached growth biomass and showed that micropollutants biodegradation by both types of biomass is co-metabolic.
