TL;DR: In this paper, a semi-implicit finite difference scheme for the numerical solution of a three-dimensional shallow water model is presented and discussed, in which pressure is assumed to be hydrostatic and the velocity gradient in the momentum equations and the velocities in the vertically integrated continuity equation are discretized with the θ-method, with θ being an implicitness parameter.
Abstract: The stability analysis, the accuracy and the efficiency of a semi-implicit finite difference scheme for the numerical solution of a three-dimensional shallow water model are presented and discussed. The governing equations are the three-dimensional Reynolds equations in which pressure is assumed to be hydrostatic. The pressure gradient in the momentum equations and the velocities in the vertically integrated continuity equation are discretized with the θ-method, with θ being an implicitness parameter. It is shown that the method is stable for 1 2 ≤ θ ≤ 1, unstable for θ 1 2 and highest accuracy and efficiency is achieved when θ = 1 2 . The resulting algorithm is mass conservative and naturally allows for the simulation of flooding and drying of tidal flats.

TL;DR: In this paper, the elastic modulus and dynamic storage moduli of 3D printed parts along three different build orientations were increased by the presence of graphene nanoplatelets (xGnP) in the ABS matrix.
Abstract: For the first time, graphene nanoplatelets (xGnP) were incorporated at 4 wt% in acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS) filaments obtained by a solvent-free process consisting of melt compounding and extrusion. Nanocomposite filaments were then used to feed a fused deposition modelling (FDM) machine to obtain specimens with various build orientations. The elastic modulus and dynamic storage moduli of 3D printed parts along three different build orientations were increased by the presence of xGnP in the ABS matrix. At the same time, a decrease in both stress and strain at break was observed when xGnP is added to ABS. Moreover, a higher thermal stability was induced on 3D printed parts by xGnP, as indicated by a reduction in both coefficient of linear thermal expansion and creep compliance. A comparison between 3D printed and compression moulded parts highlighted the importance of the orientation effects induced by the fused deposition modelling process.

TL;DR: The results underline the necessity to take into account the in situ production of growth factors by invading mesenchymal cells in the regenerative niche and raise important questions concerning the exact nature of pro-angiogenic drug- or gene-delivery systems to be incorporated into scaffolds.

TL;DR: A new measure (degree) of consensus is proposed which is more human-consistent in the sense that it better reflects a real human perception of the essence of consensus in practice.
