Abstract: Fe3O4-graphene composites with three-dimensional laminated structures have been synthesised by a simple in situ hydrothermal method. From field-emission and transmission electron microscopy results, the Fe3O4 nanoparticles, around 3-15 nm in size, are highly encapsulated in a graphene nanosheet matrix. The reversible Li-cycling properties of Fe3O4-graphene have been evaluated by galvanostatic discharge-charge cycling, cyclic voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy. Results show that the Fe3O4-graphene nanocomposite with a graphene content of 38.0 wt% exhibits a stable capacity of about 650 mAh g(-1) with no noticeable fading for up to 100 cycles in the voltage range of 0.0-3.0 V. The superior performance of Fe3O4-graphene is clearly established by comparison of the results with those from bare Fe3O4. The graphene nanosheets in the composite materials could act not only as lithium storage active materials, but also as an electronically conductive matrix to improve the electrochemical performance of Fe3O4.

Abstract: Controlling the morphology and size of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanostructures is crucial to obtain superior photocatalytic, photovoltaic, and electrochemical properties. However, the synthetic techniques for preparing such structures, especially those with complex configurations, still remain a challenge because of the rapid hydrolysis of Ti-containing polymer precursors in aqueous solution. Herein, we report a completely novel approach—three-dimensional (3D) TiO2 nanostructures with favorable dendritic architectures—through a simple hydrothermal synthesis. The size of the 3D TiO2 dendrites and the morphology of the constituent nano-units, in the form of nanorods, nanoribbons, and nanowires, are controlled by adjusting the precursor hydrolysis rate and the surfactant aggregation. Abstract: This paper presents an adaptive fuzzy control approach for a category of uncertain nonstrict-feedback systems with input saturation and output constraint. A variable separation approach is introduced to overcome the difficulty arising from the nonstrict-feedback structure. The problem of input saturation is solved by introducing an auxiliary design system, and output constraint is handled by utilizing a barrier Lyapunov function. Combing fuzzy logic system with the adaptive backstepping technique, the semi-global boundedness of all variables in the closed-loop systems is guaranteed, and the tracking error is driven to the origin with a small neighborhood. The stability of the closed-loop systems is proved, and the simulation results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract: This paper presents the pros and cons of using radio-frequency identification (RFID) in supply chain management (SCM). While RFID has a greater number of benefits than its predecessor, the bar code, it currently comes at a price that many businesses still consider prohibitive. On the one hand, RFID is advantageous because it does not require line-of-sight scanning, it acts to reduce labor levels, enhances visibility, and improves inventory management. On the other hand, RFID is presently a costly solution, lacking standardization, it has a small number of suppliers developing end-to-end solutions, suffers from some adverse deployment issues, and is clouded by privacy concerns. Irrespective of these factors, the ultimate aim of RFID in SCM is to see the establishment of item-level tracking which should act to revolutionize SCM practices, introducing another level of efficiencies never before seen.
