TL;DR: A new syndrome which combines clinical features of several storage diseases, but which is nonetheless unique, is characterized by autosomal recessive inheritance and the presence of dwarfism, gargoyle facies, mental retardation, seizures, corneal clouding, macular cherry-red spot, β-galactosidase deficiency, dysostosis multiplex, and hearing deficit.
Abstract: A new syndrome which combines clinical features of several storage diseases (mucopolysaccharidoses, sphingolipidoses, and mucolipidoses), but which is nonetheless unique, is characterized by autosomal recessive inheritance and thepresenceof dwarfism, gargoyle facies, mental retardation, seizures, corneal clouding, macular cherry-red spot, β-galactosidase deficiency, dysostosis multiplex, and hearing deficit. It is also characterized by theabsenceof clinically enlarged organs, vacuolated blood cells, and mucopolysacchariduria.

TL;DR: There appears to be no advantage to bilateral lymphadenectomy over unilateral lymph-node dissection, and results from studies employing either the lumbar approach or transperitoneal approach appear to be equal.
Abstract: Sixty-four patients have been observed for three years or more after radical lymphadenectomy for nonseminomatous germinal-cell tumors of the testis. The results of this study indicate that survival rates of patients with stage A teratocarcinoma and embryonal carcinoma were excellent (93% and 94%, respectively). In patients with stage B tumors, survival rates were far better in the teratocarcinoma group (77%) than in patients with embryonal carcinoma (29%). The study failed to document the value of postlymphadenectomy radiation therapy for either embryonal carcinoma or teratocarcinoma. Furthermore, there appears to be no advantage to bilateral lymphadenectomy over unilateral lymph-node dissection. Results from studies employing either the lumbar approach or transperitoneal approach appear to be equal.

TL;DR: In this article, an ultrasonic pulsed Doppler (Doppler) blood velocity detector with a transducer adapted to transmit a beam of ultrasound toward a blood vessel and detect ultrasound reflected from moving blood particles is presented.
Abstract: Apparatus for transcutaneously producing visual images of the internal dimensions of blood vessels in the human body is disclosed including an ultrasonic pulsed Doppler blood velocity detector having a transducer adapted to transmit a beam of ultrasound toward a blood vessel and detect ultrasound reflected from moving blood particles. The transducer is held by a mechanical arm capable of sensing the position and orientation of the transducer. The position and orientation of the transducer are combined with the distance of the blood vessel therefrom to locate the beam of an oscillographic storage display unit. A frequency detector is employed to intensify the beam of the storage display unit to write a spot on the display whenever the output of the pulsed Doppler is above a pre-set amplitude and frequency indicating blood flow within the blood vessel. Method of use of the disclosed apparatus to produce visualizations of blood vessels in the human body are also disclosed.

TL;DR: In this article, N-Aryl-N-phenylhydroxylamines were prepared from phenylmagnesium bromide and aryl nitro-compounds.
Abstract: N-Aryl-N-phenylhydroxylamines were prepared from phenylmagnesium bromide and aryl nitro-compounds. The hydroxylamines were then reduced to secondary amines. The isolation of phenol as a by-product in the former reaction supports the suggested mechanism.

TL;DR: It is found that the esteroprotease can be disassociated by DEAE-cellulose chromatography into esterase and protease subunits, and there is some evidence that suggests that this might represent a macromolecule.
