Abstract: We present new techniques for supervised wrapper generation and automated web information extraction, and a system called Lixto implementing these techniques. Our system can generate wrappers which translate relevant pieces of HTML pages into XML. Lixto, of which a working prototype has been implemented, assists the user to semi-automatically create wrapper programs by providing a fully visual and interactive user interface. In this convenient user-interface very expressive extraction programs can be created. Internally, this functionality is reected by the new logicbased declarative language Elog. Users never have to deal with Elog and even familiarity with HTML is not required. Lixto can be used to create an \XML-Companion" for an HTML web page with changing content, containing the continually updated XML translation of the relevant information.

Abstract: Coherent extreme-ultraviolet radiation extending to wavelengths below the carbon K edge at 4.37 nanometers (nm) has been generated at a repetition rate of 1 kilohertz by focusing 5-femtosecond near-infrared (780 nm) laser pulses into a helium gas jet. The incident light field performs just a few oscillations, which results in the emission of an x-ray supercontinuum rather than discrete harmonics. Owing to the extremely short rise time of the driving pulses, neutral atoms can be exposed to high fields before they are depleted by ionization. As a result, the observed x-ray radiation extends well into the water window and is delivered in a well-collimated beam (divergence less than 1 milliradian). The high repetition rate and spatial coherence result in a brightness of about 5 × 108 photons per square millimeter per square milliradian per second in a 1-percent bandwidth at 4.37 nm, the carbon edge of the water window. The compact laboratory system holds promise as a source for biological holography and nonlinear optics in the x-ray regime.

Abstract: Cross-site scripting (XSS) is an attack against web applications in which scripting code is injected into the output of an application that is then sent to a user’s web browser In the browser, this scripting code is executed and used to transfer sensitive data to a third party (ie, the attacker) Currently, most approaches attempt to prevent XSS on the server side by inspecting and modifying the data that is exchanged between the web application and the user Unfortunately, it is often the case that vulnerable applications are not fixed for a considerable amount of time, leaving the users vulnerable to attacks The solution presented in this paper stops XSS attacks on the client side by tracking the flow of sensitive information inside the web browser If sensitive information is about to be transferred to a third party, the user can decide if this should be permitted or not As a result, the user has an additional protection layer when surfing the web, without solely depending on the security of the web application

Abstract: A description is provided of the software algorithms developed for the CMS tracker both for reconstructing charged-particle trajectories in proton-proton interactions and for using the resulting tracks to estimate the positions of the LHC luminous region and individual primary-interaction vertices. Despite the very hostile environment at the LHC, the performance obtained with these algorithms is found to be excellent. For tt events under typical 2011 pileup conditions, the average track-reconstruction efficiency for promptly-produced charged particles with transverse momenta of p_T > 0.9GeV is 94% for pseudorapidities of |η| < 0.9 and 85% for 0.9 < |η| < 2.5. The inefficiency is caused mainly by hadrons that undergo nuclear interactions in the tracker material. For isolated muons, the corresponding efficiencies are essentially 100%. For isolated muons of p_T = 100GeV emitted at |η| < 1.4, the resolutions are approximately 2.8% in p_T, and respectively, 10μm and 30μm in the transverse and longitudinal impact parameters. The position resolution achieved for reconstructed primary vertices that correspond to interesting pp collisions is 10–12μm in each of the three spatial dimensions. The tracking and vertexing software is fast and flexible, and easily adaptable to other functions, such as fast tracking for the trigger, or dedicated tracking for electrons that takes into account bremsstrahlung.
