TL;DR: It was found that both GA and PSO optimization algorithms proposed in this research predicted the BTS values satisfactorily; however, PSO power model with the R2 of 0.963 demonstrated a better generalization capability and it can be used for similar problems in the future.
Abstract: The Brazilian tensile strength (BTS) test is the most common method to evaluate the tensile strength in mining and civil engineering projects. This paper aims to employ the genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) for predicting the BTS. For this work, linear and power equations were considered and their weights were optimized By GA and PSO. To achieve the objective of this research, a database including 80 sets of data were prepared so that dry density (DD), Schmidt hammer (Rn), and point load (IS50) parameters were used as the independent parameters. After modeling, the accuracy of PSO linear, PSO power, GA linear and GA power models were assessed using coefficient correlation (R2) and root mean square error (RMSE). According to the obtained results, it was found that both GA and PSO optimization algorithms proposed in this research predicted the BTS values satisfactorily; however, PSO power model with the R2 of 0.963 demonstrated a better generalization capability and it can be used for similar problems in the future. Also, the values of R2 for the PSO linear, GA Linear and GA power models were 0.958, 0.948 and 0.962, respectively.

01 Jan 2020TL;DR: The proposed model is a hybrid model which would increase payload capacity as well as robustness with a strong security, which helps to combine the advantages of each type of image steganography.
Abstract: Steganography is a method for invisible communication while concealing the actual data to be transmitted within non-secret data or text. It is the process of hiding the secret information within another form of data like text, image, audio, or video. Image steganography intends to embed a secret message into another image, called as a cover image through an encrypting algorithm, and the secret data can be retrieved by using a decrypting algorithm. The two major techniques used in image steganography process are spatial domain and transform domain. LSB is a commonly used technique as the payload capacity is higher compared to transform domain techniques, whereas the robustness is lower. There are various other models where the disadvantages of each type are being reduced. But the proposed model is a hybrid model which would increase payload capacity as well as robustness with a strong security. This helps to combine the advantages of each type of image steganography. We can do so by replacing the common words by using special symbols with extended ASCII values.

01 Mar 2017TL;DR: A new direction for the development of the spectrum analysis of shock response is presented, based on the virtual instrument that can measure the vibration signal introduced by the vibration system.
Abstract: The seismic measurement signal plays an important role in observing the launch vehicle. Based on the virtual instrument that can measure the vibration signal introduced by the vibration system. The hardware development system includes the sensor's vibration or shock response, a signal amplifier, and data acquisition and PC devices. LabVIEW is a digital programming language, and as a development platform system software. It is a National Instruments product. Using LabVIEW, the system can measure and analyze the most complete vibration signal, the most convenient way. It is recognized that its operation is flexible and simple, powerful. This paper presents a new direction for the development of the spectrum analysis of shock response.

07 Mar 2019TL;DR: This review presents the role, merits and limitations of the most recent QRS and T Wave detection techniques proposed in the literature in the last three years for confirming Cardiac Abnormalities and a list of open research issues and challenges that could be focused by the growing researchers around the world.
Abstract: The Electro Cardiogram Signals (ECG) are utilized for detecting cardiac abnormalities for more than a century, since cardiac-related diseases are considered as the primary cause of death for the increasing degree of patients over the years around the world. Heart Variability investigation schemes are determined to be the potential cardiac rhythms automatic classification techniques for precise assessments of rhythm disorders. However, accurate QRS and T wave detection techniques are identified for effective and reliable HRV interpretation process. This review presents the role, merits and limitations of the most recent QRS and T Wave detection techniques proposed in the literature in the last three years for confirming Cardiac Abnormalities. This survey presents a diversified number of evaluation metrics that could used for determining the predominance of the reviewed schemes. This survey also presents a list of open research issues and challenges that could be focused by the growing researchers around the world. The major outcome of the survey concentrated on the determination of merit and limitations of the existing QRS and T Wave detection techniques in order to propose future research that confirms cardiac abnormalities with minimized overhead.
