TL;DR: In this article, the first measurement of the azimuthal anisotropy (v2) of dielectrons (e+e− pairs) at mid-rapidity from √sNN=200 GeV Au+Au collisions with the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), presented as a function of transverse momentum (pT) for different invariant-mass regions.
Abstract: We report on the first measurement of the azimuthal anisotropy (v2) of dielectrons (e+e− pairs) at mid-rapidity from √sNN=200 GeV Au + Au collisions with the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), presented as a function of transverse momentum (pT) for different invariant-mass regions. In the mass region Mee<1.1 GeV/c2 the dielectron v2 measurements are found to be consistent with expectations from π0,η,ω, and ϕ decay contributions. In the mass region 1.1

25 Oct 2013TL;DR: In this article, a comparative study of spectral transmission characteristics of tilted Bragg gratings made using uniform phase mask and chirped phase mask is presented, focusing on low tilt angles with special interest on cladding modes behavior.
Abstract: In this paper the comparative study of spectral transmission characteristics of tilted Bragg gratings made using uniform
phase mask and chirped phase mask are presented. Results are focused on low tilt angles with special interest on
cladding modes behavior. The spectral characteristic shape for simultaneously tilted and chirped Bragg gratings point out
its potential applications as amplitude discriminator in fiber sensing applications and gain flattening element for EDFA.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the determinants of CEO compensation and found a positive correlation between directors' remuneration and companies size in both British and Polish listed companies, and the relationship is also positive between directors pay and companies performance.
Abstract: This paper examines the determinants of CEO compensation. There are many factors that influence CEO compensation. For this research three factors has been selected: companies size, accounting factor and market factor. The study looks at the relationship between each of this factors and directors remuneration. Sample of companies listed on London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) has been investigated over the period of 2007 – 2010. Data has been collected through annual reports content analysis and announcement on websites of LSE and WSE. Linear regression has been run on collected data. Positive correlation has been found between directors’ remuneration and companies size in both British and Polish listed companies. The relationship is also positive between directors pay and companies performance. Companies’ performance has been assets by return on equity ratio (ROE) and Tobin’s Q. All the findings are consistent with the outcome presented within previous research by variety of scholars.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the modification of the bioactivity of Al2O3-noble metal composite nanoparticles by the addition of graphene oxide and the formation of a RGO/Al 2 O3-Me nanocomposite system.
Abstract: The aim of this study was to describe the modification of the bioactivity of Al2O3-noble metal (Me = Ag, Au, or Pd) composite nanoparticles by the addition of graphene oxide and the formation of a RGO/Al2O3-Me nanocomposite system. The nanocomposite flakes and Al2O3-Me composite nanoparticles were widely characterized. The antibacterial effect was observed only for Al2O3-Ag composite nanoparticles and RGO/Al2O3-Ag nanocomposite flakes, while, in the case of RGO/Al2O3-Ag, a more evident antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria was observed compared with Al2O3-Ag. In the case of other noble metals (Au, Pd), a slight growth-stimulating effect was revealed for particular bacterial strains.
