TL;DR: It is shown that the algorithm converges to the characteristic of the subsystem in the pointwise as well as the global sense, for sufficiently smooth characteristics, the rate of convergence is o(n-1/(2+d in probability, where d is the dimension of the input variable).
Abstract: A discrete-time, multiple-input non-linear Hammerstein system is identified. The dynamical subsystem is recovered using the standard correlation method. The main results concern estimation of the non-linear memoryless subsystem. No conditions concerning the functional form of the transform characteristic of the subsystem are made and an algorithm for estimation of the characteristic is given. The algorithm is simply a non-parametric kernel estimate of the regression function calculated from the dependent data. It is shown that the algorithm converges to the characteristic of the subsystem in the pointwise as well as the global sense. For sufficiently smooth characteristics, the rate of convergence is o(n-1/(2+d in probability, where d is the dimension of the input variable.

TL;DR: Alum coagulation followed by ultra-filtration was studied in order to improve water quality for surface water treatment as mentioned in this paper, and the influence of pH (from 5 to 10) and coagulant dose (25, 40 and 50 g alum/m 3 equal to 1.795, 2.872 and 3.59 g Al/m3 ) on the investigated process performance was analyzed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a dedicated fiber Bragg grating (FBG) inscription experiment was conducted to investigate the compatibility of a microstructured optical fiber (MOF) with conventional FBG inscription setups.
Abstract: We present a dedicated fiber Bragg grating (FBG) inscription experiment to investigate the compatibility of a microstructured optical fiber (MOF) with conventional FBG inscription setups. For the studied MOF, the angular orientation of the fiber in the interferometric excimer laser setup was found to have no significant influence on the final reflection of the inscribed FBGs. We also show that an array of multiplexed FBGs can be inscribed in a single MOF with a repeatability and quality that match fiber sensing requirements.

TL;DR: In this article, the concept of two sensor systems capable of measurements and analysis of butanol/xylene and butanol-toluene mixtures is presented. Butanol and aromatic compounds are classified among the most commonly used there.
Abstract: Organic solvents represent significant class of air pollutants. Mixtures of butanol and aromatic compounds are classified among the most commonly used there. The concept of two sensor systems capable of measurements and analysis of butanol/xylene and butanol/toluene mixtures is presented. Sensor array consists of four commercial, tin oxide based, semiconductor type gas sensors (TGS 800 series). For the sensors characterisation manually operated gas installation is constructed. Feedforward neural networks are developed for appropriate analysis of sensors responses. Both systems provide measurements of several single compounds concentrations with inaccuracy not exceeding 15% of range. Humidity influence on system responses is rejected. Possibility of portable realisation make the systems potential replacement of traditional gas analysing devices, especially in off-laboratory applications.
