TL;DR: Aerobic denitrifiers tend to work efficiently at 25 ~ 37°C and pH 7 ~ 8, when dissolved oxygen concentration is 3 ~ 5 mg/L and C/N load ratio is 5 ~ 10, and the periplasmic nitrate reductase is vital for aerobic denItrifiers and NapA gene may be the proof of aerobic denitrification.
Abstract: Understanding aerobic denitrification has become an important focus of environmental microbiology. Aerobic denitrification can be performed by various genera of microorganisms and describes the use of nitrate (NO

) as oxidizing agents under an aerobic atmosphere. Isolation of aerobic denitrifiers, enzymes involved in aerobic denitrifiers, phylogenetic distribution of aerobic denitrifiers, factors affecting the performance of aerobic denitrifiers, attempts of applications and possible future trends are depicted. The periplasmic nitrate reductase is vital for aerobic denitrifiers and NapA gene may be the proof of aerobic denitrification. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that aerobic denitrifiers mainly belong to α-, β- and γ-Proteobacteria. Aerobic denitrifiers tend to work efficiently at 25 ~ 37°C and pH 7 ~ 8, when dissolved oxygen concentration is 3 ~ 5 mg/L and C/N load ratio is 5 ~ 10. In addition, recent progresses and applications on aerobic denitrifiers are described, including single aerobic reactors, sequencing batch reactor and biofilm reactors. The review attempts to shed light on the fundamental understanding in aerobic denitrification.

TL;DR: It was found that blood group A was associated with an increased risk of infection, whereas group O wasassociated with a decreased risk.
Abstract: To explore any relationship between the ABO blood group and the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) susceptibility, we compared ABO blood group distributions in 2173 COVID-19 patients with local control populations, and found that blood group A was associated with an increased risk of infection, whereas group O was associated with a decreased risk.

TL;DR: In this paper, sustainable fluorine (F)-doped carbon blacks (CB-F) as metal-free, low-cost, and high performance electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) were synthesized for the first time.
Abstract: For the goal of practical industrial development of fuel cells, inexpensive, sustainable, and high performance electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) are highly desirable alternatives to platinum (Pt) and other rare materials. In this work, sustainable fluorine (F)-doped carbon blacks (CB-F) as metal-free, low-cost, and high-performance electrocatalysts for ORR were synthesized for the first time. The performance (electrocatalytic activity, long-term operation stability, and tolerance to poisons) of the best one (BP-18F, based on Black Pearls 2000 (BP)) is on the same level as Pt-based or other best non-Pt-based catalysts in alkaline medium. The maximum power density of alkaline direct methanol fuel cell with BP-18F as the cathode (3 mg/cm2) is ∼15.56 mW/cm2 at 60 °C, compared with a maximum of 9.44 mW/cm2 for commercial Pt/C (3 mgPt/cm2). All these results unambiguously demonstrate that these sustainable CB-F catalysts are the most promising alternatives to Pt in an alkaline fuel cell. Sin...

TL;DR: The recent advances of intelligent cancer nanomedicine are demonstrated, and the comprehensive understanding of their structure-function relationship for smart and efficient cancer nanotechine including various imaging and therapeutic applications, as well as nanotoxicity is discussed.
Abstract: Precise nanomedicine has been extensively explored for efficient cancer imaging and targeted cancer therapy, as evidenced by a few breakthroughs in their preclinical and clinical explorations. Here, we demonstrate the recent advances of intelligent cancer nanomedicine, and discuss the comprehensive understanding of their structure-function relationship for smart and efficient cancer nanomedicine including various imaging and therapeutic applications, as well as nanotoxicity. In particular, a few emerging strategies that have advanced cancer nanomedicine are also highlighted as the emerging focus such as tumor imprisonment, supramolecular chemotherapy, and DNA nanorobot. The challenge and outlook of some scientific and engineering issues are also discussed in future development. We wish to highlight these new progress of precise nanomedicine with the ultimate goal to inspire more successful explorations of intelligent nanoparticles for future clinical translations.
