TL;DR: In this article, a dual-polarized dipole antenna for base station applications is presented, which is composed of a cross dipole, a square loop, square plate, and a small-size reflector.
Abstract: A novel dual-polarized dipole antenna for base-station applications is presented in this letter. The proposed antenna is composed of a cross dipole, a square loop, a square plate, and a small-size reflector. The square loop and the square plate act as a parasitic radiator and a director, respectively. By introducing the two parts, the impedance bandwidth of the cross dipole can be significantly enhanced, and broadside radiation patterns with narrow beam can be also obtained. Experimental results show that the proposed antenna can operate from 1.71 to 2.69 GHz with low VSWRs at the two ports. High isolation ( > 22 dB) and stable antenna gain (~ 8 dB) are also achieved over the entire operating frequency band. The antenna has symmetrical radiation patterns both in vertical and horizontal planes, and the half-power beamwidth is 70°±5°. Furthermore, the size of the proposed antenna is very compact, which is only 0.513 λ0 ×0.513 λ0 ×0.388 λ0 at the center of the operating frequency band.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a new holistic attention network (HAN), which consists of a layer attention module (LAM) and a channel-spatial attention module(CSAM), to model the holistic interdependencies among layers, channels, and positions.
Abstract: Informative features play a crucial role in the single image super-resolution task. Channel attention has been demonstrated to be effective for preserving information-rich features in each layer. However, channel attention treats each convolution layer as a separate process that misses the correlation among different layers. To address this problem, we propose a new holistic attention network (HAN), which consists of a layer attention module (LAM) and a channel-spatial attention module (CSAM), to model the holistic interdependencies among layers, channels, and positions. Specifically, the proposed LAM adaptively emphasizes hierarchical features by considering correlations among layers. Meanwhile, CSAM learns the confidence at all the positions of each channel to selectively capture more informative features. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed HAN performs favorably against the state-of-the-art single image super-resolution approaches.

TL;DR: In this article, a compact printed ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna with dual band-notched characteristics is presented, where one complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) is etched inside the patch of the antenna to achieve dual notch frequency bands.
Abstract: A compact printed ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna with dual band-notched characteristics is presented. One complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) is etched inside the patch of the monopole antenna to achieve dual notch frequency bands. A practical example for a UWB antenna (working from 2.90 to 12 GHz) is demonstrated, with one notch frequency band at 3.40-3.48 GHz and the other at 5.40-5.98 GHz. In addition, the effect of the dimensions of the CSRR on the dual notch frequency bands is also analysed.
