TL;DR: In this paper, the structure and dynamics of [BMIM][PF6] ionic liquid (IL) confined inside a slit-like Au metal nanopore with a pore size of 5.0 µm.
Abstract: Molecular dynamics simulations were carried to investigate the structure and dynamics of [BMIM][PF6] ionic liquid (IL) confined inside a slit-like Au metal nanopore with a pore size of 5.0 nm. The calculations show that the mass and number densities of the confined ILs are oscillatory; the solid-like high density layers are formed in the vicinity of the metal surface. The orientational investigation shows that the imidazolium ring of [BMIM] cations prefers to form a small tilt angle with the pore walls. Furthermore, the mean squared displacement (MSD) calculation indicates that the dynamics of confined ILs are remarkably slower than those observed in bulk systems. Our results suggest that the confinement of the Au nanopore can strongly affect the structural and dynamical properties of the confined ILs.

TL;DR: Zhang et al. as discussed by the authors evaluated 57 plant landscape photos with SBE (scenic beauty evaluation) method, and analyzed the factors affecting the scenic beauty of plant landscape, which showed that there was significant correlation between different evaluation groups on the scenic quality of plant landscapes; however, the convergence of different people in the evaluation of “beautiful” plant landscape was significantly higher than that of "ugly" plant landscape.
Abstract: The plant landscape of Yunlong Lake wetland park in Xuzhou city was studied in this paper, 57 plant landscape photos were evaluated with SBE (scenic beauty evaluation) method, and the factors affecting the scenic beauty were analyzed. The results showed that (1) there was significant correlation between different evaluation groups on the scenic beauty of plant landscape; however, the convergence of different people in the evaluation of “beautiful” plant landscape was significantly higher than that of “ugly” plant landscape. (2) According to the comprehensive SBE mean values of 57 plant landscape photos, 31 were negative and 26 were positive. The order of SBE mean values of different types was plant landscape beside buildings or sketches (0.1882) > plant landscape on both sides of the roads (0.1667) > waterfront plant landscape (− 0.0085) > typical plant community (− 0.1729); the k-mean clustering grouped 57 photos of plant landscape into 5 categories: the proportion of “excellent, good, medium, average, and poor” was 5.26%, 24.56%, 29.82%, 26.32%, and 14.04%, respectively. (3) Linear regression analysis showed that the beauty of plant artistic conception was the main factor affecting the SBE of plant landscape. The regression equation was SBE = − 1.3 + 0.335 × (plant artistic conception). (4) The combination of plants and other landscape sketches was more favored by people; waterfront plant landscape and typical plant communities had a low degree of beauty in Yunlong Lake wetland park, which needed to be matched reasonably to create a better plant artistic conception.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of rare earth nitrate with curcumin on the static and dynamic thermal stability of PVC was investigated by Congo red test and torque rheometer, and the results showed that the static thermal stability time of PVC is higher than 25.1 min, especially that of PVC with Ce⋅L2 is up to 36.3 min.

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study of the generation of new phases using large mechanical deformations and high pressure, rather than heat, was conducted. But the results were limited to a 4.83mm-thick 23-layered Cu/Al sandwich strip.
Abstract: In metallurgical theory, the generation of new phases requires high temperature diffusion over a long period of time. Here, we report an experimental study of the generation of new phases using large mechanical deformations and high pressure, rather than heat. A 4.83-mm-thick 23-layered Cu/Al sandwich strip was formed by cold rolling. When the Cu/Al sandwich was further rolled to a 0.13-mm-thick foil on a four-high micro-foil mini mill at room temperature, some rectangular-shaped phases appeared at the Cu/Al interfaces. The scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that the phases are a mixture of Al2Cu/AlCu/Al4Cu9, which indicates that chemical reactions occur at the Cu/Al interfaces during cold deformation. This study provides new insights into the design and development of composite materials for various applications.
