Omnidirectional and circularly polarized waveguide circular slot antenna array for satellite communication

Abstract: In this paper, the design of omnidirectional and circularly polarized antennas, which can be used in satellite communication, is explained. These antennas consist of circular slotted array placed symmetrically on a cylindrical waveguide. The feeding of this cylindrical waveguide is provided with a special transition from rectangular waveguide to cylindrical waveguide. In order to provide circular polarization parallel metallic plates are attached to the aperture of circular slotted array. As the result of the designs, better than 10 dB return loss is found in the frequency region of both transmitter (around 11.75 GHz) and receiver (around 14 GHz) within approximately 3 percent frequency bandwidth. Besides, there is lower than 1 dB axial ratio in the azimuth plane and lower than 4 dB axial ration in a wide beamwidth of elevation plane. The variation of about 0.7 dBi is observed in the gain at the azimuth plane which provides omnidirectionality at this plane.

Aile İşletmelerinde Yönetim Devri ve Temel Kurumsallaşma Uygulamaları: Ege Otomotiv Derneği Üyeleri Çalışması

Abstract: Aile isletmelerinin nesiller boyu surdurulebilir devamliligi icin bazi temel kurumsallasma uygulamalarinin baslatilmasi ve nesiller arasi yonetim devirlerinin basariyla sonuclandirilmasi gerekmektedir. Ancak, bu surecin ilk basamagi olan temel kurumsallasma uygulamalarinin ilk evreleri hizla asilirken son evrelerine ulasilamadigi icin bircok aile isletmelerinin nesiller arasi devamliligi saglanamamaktadir. Bu makalede Ege Otomotiv Dernegi’ne uye aile isletmelerinin temel kurumsallasma uygulamalari ve yonetim devri uzerine hem algilari hem de calismalari incelenmistir. Ayrica, bu makalenin temel kurumsallasma uygulamalari sonuclari, iki ayri alan calismasinin sonuclariyla kiyaslanmis ve her uc alan calismasinin ilgili sonuclarinda cok onemli benzerlikler saptanmistir.

Exploring the performance of hotels’ websites for guests with disabilities: a content analysis approach

Abstract: The globally rising awareness about the social inclusion of individuals with disabilities also influences the tourism and hospitality industry in Turkey. This exploratory research focuses on the disability related content of 61 four and five star hotels’ corporate websites in Izmir to reveal the provision of services to people with disabilities within the lodging industry via content analysis. The findings mainly revealed that the websites are not well-structured to support social inclusion of people with disabilities. Most of the hotel websites lack the details of general accessible information and visuals of the properties related to disability and measurement details of offered products in line with the services. Accordingly, empowerment of stakeholders is emphasized in order to improve the awareness of economic and social benefits in accessible accommodation.

Toplumsal şi̇ddeti̇n aktarim yoluyla yeni̇den üreti̇lmesi̇: basinin televi̇zyonlaşmasi bağlaminda şefi̇ka eti̇k ci̇nayeti̇

Abstract: Gunumuzde toplumsal yapiyi etkileyen, gundelik hayatin algisi uzerinde soz sahibi mekanizmalardan biri olan medya, gorsel ve yazili kitle iletisim araclari ile bu etki alanini her gecen gun daha da genisletmektedir. Medya belirttigimiz bu etkisini, yasadigimiz binlerce olaydan sectigi haber hikayeleri araciligiyla gerceklestirir. Medyanin sagladigi en onemli toplumsal urunlerden 'haber ve etkileri' uzerine pek cok arastirma ve gorus mevcuttur. Haberi olusturmak aslinda sosyologlarin da belirttigi gibi gercekligin resmini cizmek yerine, bir bakima gercekligi yeniden kurgulamaktadir. Bu gucu en iyi gozlemleyebilecegimiz alanlardan biri de kadinin basinda, ozellikle siddet olaylarindaki temsilidir. Medyanin kadina yonelik siddetine elestirel medya kuramlari ve feminist perspektifle yaklasilan bu calismada, 7 Ekim 2011 tarihli Sefika Etik cinayetinin basin analizi gerceklestirilmistir. Haberturk gazetesinin sur mansetten verdigi ve haber fotografiyla sozkonusu haberin yarattigi tartisma ortami, farkli egilimlere seslenen gazete orneklemi uzerinden nitel ve nicel icerik analizi yontemiyle incelenmektedir.
