TL;DR: Godard's early movies as mentioned in this paper were interpreted as reflections on the political, cultural and historical issues of France in the 1950s and 60s, and the political and aesthetic strategy of much of French philosophy and avant-garde.
Abstract: Godard’s films prior to 1968 are usually received as pure experimentations of style, as if these films were little more than art-historical examples of a certain kind of avant-garde cinema. The author argues instead that Godard’s often frenzied cinematic experimentations in his early movies may be understood as reflections on the political, cultural and historical issues of France in the 1950s and 60s. In his early films, Godard engages the political and aesthetic strategy of much of French philosophy and avant-garde: the playful and often self-contradictory project of resisting the spectacles of modernity, while transforming the everyday. The author contends that this project constitutes what Jameson calls the political unconscious of Godard’s early work. To sketch this unconscious, the author refers to the larger context in which philosophers, cultural critics and filmmakers take issue with notions of the everyday, spectacle, style, resistance, festivity, consumerism, as well as with the signs of postwa...

TL;DR: Turkiye et al. as discussed by the authors discussed the state of the art in the field of education in Turkey, including the following: iletisim egitiminin nasil olmasi gerektigi konusunda ogrencilerin, akademisyenlerin ve meslek mensuplarinin tutumlarini ve bu tutumlarin nasil farklilastigini arastirmaktadir.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the positive parts and negative parts of the new integral studio approach in this context, and the strong and weak parts of this education system are put forward.
Abstract: The formulations of studios are the most critical problem of design studies, because the foundation of further architectural education is based on these design studios. This paper focuses on discussions of studiobased design learning systems and curriculum developments on integral design studios that aims significant and innovative frameworks. In this context, integrated design studios are the newest approaches of architectural education. In this education system every studio has its own integral course. Integral courses give support to the design studios. This support can be either theoretical or practical. Knowledge that is related with the context of the design studio can be explained in this integrated course in some cases, in some cases as simulation program can be explained in some parts of the course. The support of the integral courses to the studios must be evaluated deeply. This paper presents the positive parts and negative parts of the new integral studio approach in this context. By this way, strong and weak parts of this education system is put forward.

TL;DR: This article explored the effects of using black on spatial experience by means of phenomenological analysis of its architectural examples with a special focus on the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion designed by Peter Zumthor.
Abstract: This article explores the effects of using black on spatial experience by means of phenomenological analysis of its architectural examples with a special focus on Serpentine Gallery Pavilion designed by Peter Zumthor Contrary to the growing interest in the color in contemporary architecture, black rarely found a place in architectural history and in studies on color design Whereas, the distinct achromatic qualities of the color that appear highly self-contradictory swinging back and forth from absence to presence cover a wide range of potentials to be used in architectural design Through insights delved into the spatial experience constructed around these qualities, this paper attempts to analyze how black is used as a design element in built environments This analysis revolves around Zumthor s pavilion, which stood as a uniform black box on the expanse of green grass of London Kensington Gardens for more than three months in 2011 Encompassing various oppositions, the box built to surround a hortus conclusus, an enclosed garden inside, provided its visitors with a unique spatial experience depending predominantly on the combination of its form, tectonics and the qualities of its color, black The phenomenological analysis of these qualities manifests that the architect utilized the contradictory characteristics of the color intentionally in order to create a complex and manifold spatial experience for visitors in and outside the box In an interplay of absence and presence, momentary crystallizations of the vision of black provide architects with uncharted opportunities for creative use of color in the design of built environments © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc Col Res Appl, 42, 378–387, 2017

TL;DR: In this article, the authors deal with the conventional and advanced exergy performance assessment of the district heating system, using four different waste heat sources by the exhaust gas potentials of the selected plants (municipal solid waste cogeneration, thermal power, wastewater treatment, and cement production), with the real-time data group based on numerical investigations.
Abstract: The heating of the buildings, together with domestic hot water generation, is responsible for half of the total generated heating energy, which consumes half of the final energy demand. Meanwhile, district heating systems are a powerful option to meet this demand, with their significant potential and the experience accumulated over many years. The work described here deals with the conventional and advanced exergy performance assessments of the district heating system, using four different waste heat sources by the exhaust gas potentials of the selected plants (municipal solid waste cogeneration, thermal power, wastewater treatment, and cement production), with the real-time data group based on numerical investigations. The simulated results based on conventional exergy analysis revealed that the priority should be given to heat exchanger (HE)-I, with exergy efficiency values from 0.39 to 0.58, followed by HE-II and the pump with those from 0.48 to 0.78 and from 0.81 to 0.82, respectively. On the other hand, the simulated results based on advanced exergy analysis indicated that the exergy destruction was mostly avoidable for the pump (78.32–78.56%) and mostly unavoidable for the heat exchangers (66.61–97.13%). Meanwhile, the exergy destruction was determined to be mainly originated from the component itself (endogenous), for the pump (97.50–99.45%) and heat exchangers (69.80–91.97%). When the real-time implementation was considered, the functional exergy efficiency of the entire system was obtained to be linearly and inversely proportional to the pipeline length and the average ambient temperature, respectively.
