Abstract: This study considers the distribution network of a well-known perishable food manufacturer and its franchises in Turkey. As the countrywide number of stores is increasing fast, the company is facing problems due to its central distribution of products from a single factory. The objective is to decrease the cost of transportation while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Hence, the focus is on the vehicle routing problem (VRP) of this large franchise chain within each city. The problem is defined as a rich VRP with heterogeneous fleet, site-dependent and compartmentalized vehicles, and soft/hard time windows. This NP-hard problem is modelled and tried with real data on a commercial solver. A basic heuristic procedure which can be used easily by the decision makers is also employed for obtaining quick and high-quality solutions for large instances.

TL;DR: In this paper, the design and 3D-printed manufacturing of an omnidirectional and circularly polarized dual-band antenna for telemetry/telecommand (TMTC) applications in satellite communication on space segment are described.
Abstract: In this letter, the design and 3-D-printed manufacturing of an omnidirectional and circularly polarized dual-band antenna for telemetry/telecommand (TMTC) applications in satellite communication on space segment are described. The antenna consists of slotted arrays on the circular waveguide with radially outward metallic disks and choke structures on these disks to improve the omnidirectionality and circular polarization performances. As the main novelty of the antenna design, the structure is fed with only one rectangular waveguide; therefore, the proposed antenna can be considered as a transceiver antenna. The design and simulations of the antenna and measurement results for 3-D-printed manufacturing are given at Ku-band. A 10 dB return loss bandwidth is found to be 500 MHz both for telemetry and telecommand bands having center frequencies of 12 and 14 GHz, respectively. Besides, the maximum axial ratio and minimum gain within 65° beamwidth are obtained as 3 dB and −5 dBi, respectively, which are sufficient for the omnidirectional and circularly polarized antenna providing TMTC communication in satellite systems.

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of a near room temperature magnetic cooling system was investigated experimentally in terms of temperature span and the obtained results showed that ethanol-water was the best heat transfer fluid and also that optimum magnetization-demagnetization period for the system was found 10 s.

01 Jan 2018TL;DR: In this article, the authors address the paradox of conceptualization in between corporate governance and CSR and define the traditional and brand new responsibilities of companies in the nexus of corporate governance (CG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Abstract: It is clear that the question of why an organization exists can be partly understood by analyzing its ownership and administrative structure, which is today within the field of corporate governance (CG). In a broader sense, CG has included almost all issues about the operations of a business organization. Among these issues, the emphasis on recognizing the stakeholders’ rights and creating cooperation for wealth, jobs, and the sustainability has become particularly relevant for the management of companies. Today, most people view businesses as the entities that exist to meet the expectations and interests of different stakeholders. Therefore, how a business accomplishes such a complex task of satisfying diverse stakeholders’ needs and wants has become the subject of an ongoing debate during the last decades and the response partly depends on integrating CG with CSR. The current chapter tries to address the paradox of conceptualization in between CG and CSR. Then it defines the traditional and brand new responsibilities of companies in the nexus of CG and CSR.

TL;DR: In this article, an ejector was used as an expander for an expansion work recovery in a basic refrigeration cycle and exergy analysis was used to determine the amounts and locations of irreversibilities in the elements of the ejector expansion refrigeration system.
Abstract: Utilisation of an ejector as an expander was experimentally investigated for an expansion work recovery in a basic refrigeration cycle. Exergy analysis was used to determine the amounts and locations of irreversibilities in the elements of the ejector expansion refrigeration system. It was seen that the ejector refrigeration cycle indicated a lower exergy destruction and a higher exergy efficiency compared to the vapour compression refrigeration cycle for each working condition. It was obtained that the values for the irreversibility of the ejector refrigeration cycle were less than in the vapour compression refrigeration cycle by 5.9-12.6% and the exergy efficiencies of ejector refrigeration cycle were 6.7-14.2% more than in the vapour compression cycle.
