Semantic access control for corporate mobile devices

Abstract: Many of the mobile business applications are executed in different domains as business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) operations. Computing environments of mobile wireless devices owned by individuals or organizations have become totally distributed between peers and partners. Designing applicable access control mechanisms in this environment is difficult from the point of traditional security measures. Semantic web technologies offer appropriate access opportunities to the corporate resources by using related context in user devices and servers under the trust philosophy. Semantic web technology combines user requests and service descriptions for an efficient matchmaking. This paper examines various access control mechanisms and semantically analyzes them. The purpose of this paper is to present a more secure access control mechanism for mobile corporate devices. This model can be used as an additional security framework that enforces access control mechanisms in the organizations.

Preservation of sweet red pepper paste quality: effect of packing material, ozone gas and protective agent use

Abstract: Unlike conventional methods, sweet red pepper paste was produced by various techniques in assistance of various starter cultures. Products were stored at 37 °C for 60 days. Salinity, acidity, color change, invert sugar, brown pigment formation parameters were determined during storage period. Microbiological, statistical and sensory evaluation methods were also applied and the effects of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and Polypropylene (PP) at different filling temperatures with and without protective agents were investigated. E. coli was not detected at any production stage. Samples treated with protective agents at higher temperature was found to be best with respect to panelists’ flavor and color quality scores in PP support as a result of deterioration has occurred in samples with PET material. The results provide a basis for increasing active components and functional activity in pepper paste production by controlling packing material and ozone gas release considering chemical and sensory properties.

Bu calismada bagimsiz denetim kuruluslarinda verimliligin vedenetim kalitesinin arttirilmasina yonelik insan kaynaklari ile ilgili uygulamalar,uluslararasi standartlar, tebligler ve arastirmalar ile ulusal duzenlemeler cercevesindeincelenecektir

BREEAM Communities: Criteria Aim, Status, Strengths and Weaknesses

Abstract: The point where Sustainable Development and Smart Growth understandings meet with standardization and technology has enabled eco-labels, assessment models and guidelines to emerge and become a trend. With Agenda 21, this trend has been well adopted and eco-labels, assessment models and certifications have begun to be created for many disciplines. The concept of sustainable neighbourhood, strengthened by the development of the Eco-Urbanism concept, constitutes an important basis for sustainable urban design and the Neighbourhood Sustainability Assessment (NSA) concept is nourished from this basis. BREEAM stands out as the first example developed when it comes to sustainability models of architecture and urban design. This study is a review on the criteria and indicators, purpose, status of the BREEAM Communities Model developed for smart and sustainable urban design, which is a rising value, and the scoring system was examined through BREEAM data and literature. In addition, the differences, and similarities between 5 different Neighbourhood Sustainability Assessments which are LEED ND, CASBEE UD, Citylab, and BEAM Plus Neighboorhood by 4 organizations from 70 members of the World Green Building Council, including BRE, which constitutes the BREEAM system, were investigated. As a result of all these studies, the strengths, and weaknesses of BREEAM Communities were determined.

Ekonomik Krizlerin Ardından Büyük Aile İşletmesi Anayasası: İzmir İli Merkezli Üç Aile İşletmesi Örneği

Abstract: Kuresellesme ile baslayan yogun rekabet ortami, gelismekte olan ekonomilerin aile isletmelerinin nesilden nesile devirlerini daha da guclestirmistir. Bu nedenle, 1990’li yillarin sonlarindan itibaren gelismekte olan ekonomilerin bazi buyuk aile isletmeleri, temel kurumsallasma uygulamalari ile birlikte aile anayasalarini da hazirlama girisimlerinde bulunmuslardir. Once en buyuk isletmelerde baslayan bu girisimlerin, diger buyuk islemelerde de yayginlasmaya basladigi gozlemlenmektedir. Bu calismada, merkezleri Izmir’de bulunan uc buyuk aile isletmesinin 2001 yilinin ekonomik krizi sonrasi hazirlanan ve halen yururlukte olan ozgun aile anayasalari, isletme ismi verilmeden incelenmis, tartisilmis, karsilastirilmis ve ekonomik krizlerin bu anayasalar uzerindeki birtakim etkileri vurgulanmistir.
