TL;DR: A novel approach for user driven test-case generation that would enable adequate and efficient testing of the DTV/STB in different development stages before reaching the market, i.e., the end-users is proposed.
Abstract: In recent years Digital TV receivers (DTV) and Set- Top Boxes (STB) have been advancing in terms of new functionalities they offer to the end-users. This has mainly been triggered by the appearance of new multimedia formats and applications needed to be adequately handled by the DTV/STB. In such complex system within the environment consisting of wide range of non-interactive as well as interactive applications and services for television, internet, gamming, healthcare, surveillance, etc., efficient and reliable DTV functional verification becomes highly necessary and challenging task. Since efficient DTV testing is considered as one of the most important issues for the reduced time-to-market, its optimization is of crucial importance to the DTV manufacturing process. Having in mind the end-users as the main target of the DTV, optimal test generation process must also include estimated usage-profiles in addition to the pre-defined DTV designed specification. This is especially important considering new emerging multimedia technologies for DTV which are not yet fully standardized and evaluated, and which exact employment (from the point of end-users) is not known in advance. In this paper we propose a novel approach for user driven test-case generation that would enable adequate and efficient testing of the DTV/STB in different development stages before reaching the market, i.e., the end-users. The proposed user driven approach provides optimal test-case generation in terms of both test execution time and adequacy according to the real end-user DTV functional DTV operation and quality of experience (QoE). This is obtained by incorporating a novel design and selection scheme for test-cases generation based on the modeled end-users most required functional operations on the DTV/STB under test and its expectations of it.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors conduct an academic inquiry into the reasons that curtailed Turkey of priming the pump for a regional security community in the region and conclude that three main hindrances (that of systemic, sub-systemic and domestic) render Turkey to fall short in restoring peace and stability back to the Middle East at the time of Arab uprisings.
Abstract: Many optimists believed that the “Arab Spring” was a ripe moment for regional radiant Turkey with its pro-active stance that could trigger “demonstrative effect” and transform the conflict-ridden Middle Eastern (in) security complex into a pluralistic security community. However, those expectations on Turkey’s capabilities to transform the region have fallen short as Middle East re-entered into turmoil. In this light, the article aims to conduct an academic inquiry into the reasons that curtailed Turkey of priming the pump for a regional security community in the region. It argues that international system (structural), sub-systemic (regional), and finally that of agential factors (Turkey’s own domestic embodiment) hindered Turkey’s efforts to transform the Middle East into security community. It concludes that three main hindrances (that of systemic, sub-systemic and domestic) which altogether, but particularly the latter, render Turkey to fall short in restoring peace and stability back to the Middle East at the time of Arab uprisings.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a framework and identified how reliability of information can be evaluated and measured through the concept of transparency, and selected criteria have been used as inputs to develop the information transparency level.
Abstract: Private, public, profit, and non-profit organizations, and society as a whole currently face a significant reliable information necessity problem. Especially supply chains need trustworthy information to perform their activities successfully. This study aims to propose a framework and identify how reliability of information can be evaluated and measured through the concept of transparency. In this context, dimensions such as; comprehensiveness, regularity, timeliness, content, scope, and user-friendliness are the pillars of the proposed framework. Selected criteria have been used as inputs to develop the information transparency level. The Fuzzy Analytic Network Process (ANP) is used to obtain weights of these inputs, and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used for the determination of the efficiency ranking for transparency. Results demonstrated that Content, Scope and Comprehensiveness dimensions have 75% impact on the transparency of data. Remaining 25 percent is affected by Timeliness, Regularity and User-friendliness.

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of both external and internal parties on green supply chain management practices in business firms is examined and the result of this research is very important to promote performance of Turkish business relations in their green perspectives.
Abstract: This paper provides a first-hand understanding about the procedures taken by Turkish business firms and their logistics providers and supply chain business firms to operate in an environmentally friendly supply chain. The main point of the study is to examine the influence of both external and internal parties on green supply chain management (GSCM) practices in business firms. The result of this research is very important to promote performance of Turkish business relations in their green perspectives. In order to find the correct answers, comprehensive questionnaire forms were designed. We collected data from 2014 May to 2015 July through Turkish companies. More than 180 companies contributed in this extensive research. Then the derived data were analyzed using statistical methods. One of the important inferred results is that the third party logistics service providers influence firms to have a proactive green behavior.
