TL;DR: Examining the mediating role of problematic mukbang watching (PMW) on the relationships between depression and loneliness with PYU indicated that PMW was positively related to loneliness and PyU.
Abstract: Objective: Accumulating empirical research has emphasized that a wide range of online activities–such as using social networking sites–can be performed in order to compensate unattained needs or to cope with negative affect and psychopathological symptoms. Al-though the correlates of problematic social networking use have been extensively investigated, less is known about problematic YouTube use (PYU), an umbrella term grouping a number of different activities (e.g., viewing of online video games, watching specific YouTube channels). Furthermore, nothing is known concerning increasingly popular and distinct YouTube-related activities such as mukbang watching (i.e., watching livestream “eating broadcasts” where someone eats various foods in front of the camera while interacting with viewers). The aim of the present study was to examine the mediating role of problematic mukbang watching (PMW) on the relationships between depression and loneliness with PYU.
Methods: An online survey that comprised assessment tools for aforementioned variables was administered to 217 mukbang viewers (mean age=20.58 years, range 18–33 years).
Results: Results indicated that PMW was positively related to loneliness and PYU. Depression was positively and directly associated with PYU but was not associated with PMW.
Conclusion: Further research is required to better understand the psychological processes underlying problematic mukbang watching and its association with other mental health conditions (e.g., addictive disorders, eating disorders).

01 Jan 2012TL;DR: In this paper, the authors highlighted the interaction between the competitiveness of the tourism destinations and the quality of life in terms of "quality" such as quality-of-life, and highlighted the importance of destination management and marketing with regard to close relationship between these two phenomena.
Abstract: Tourism is a very popular activity worldwide since it offers numerous opportunities to color up the tiring and boring lives of the human beings. It has been very hard to catch up with work, family, and social life since most of the people have to work due to economical burdens and the problems that arise day to day. The problems and the burdens urge people to take care of their health and level of stress so that tourism seems to be one of the most effective tools to keep away from the daily conflicts. This popular rise also brought new concepts and definitions to the literature which underlines the importance of life in terms of “quality” such as quality-of-life. However, it is evident that the interest of individuals in tourism caught the interests of the entrepreneurs, the interest of entrepreneurs accelerated the rivalry, and the rivalry brought the challenging and severe competition in several tourism destinations. This competitiveness not only caused a high increase in terms of revenues and infrastructural developments in destinations but also it caused remaining negative effects which seemed to be affecting the quality-of-life. This chapter highlights the interaction between the competitiveness of the tourism destinations and the quality-of-life. The importance of destination management and marketing are also underlined with regard to close relationship between these two phenomena.

21 Jul 2020TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the most significant factors that affect the demand of vaccines that are not included in national immunization campaigns and present the cause and effect relationships among the factors using the fuzzy DEMATEL method.
Abstract: Even though deadly effects of outbreaks such as SARS, H1N1, EBOLA and COVID-19 took the attention of the community, generating 100% vaccination uptake from people who are expected to be affected by such outbreaks is almost impossible. Hence, determining the actual vaccine demand for typical viruses and reaching this population are becoming important issues to prevent from spreading such viruses like wildfire. Many countries have been forecasting vaccine demand according to birth rates. However, factors such as district-level per capita income, literacy rate, urbanization, and some other factors should also be considered for more accurate forecasts. There is another factor affecting countries’ vaccine demand; some of the vaccines that WHO recommends are included in the national immunization programs, while others are only recommended. Thus, this study first aims to explore the most significant factors that affect the demand of vaccines that are not included in national immunization campaigns then to present the cause and effect relationships among the factors using the fuzzy DEMATEL method to provide insights to managers for better vaccine demand forecast and to increase vaccine uptake. According to the analysis results, immunization related beliefs is the most important factor among others included in this research.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the use of the landfill gas as potential energy and electricity obtained from the municipal solid waste (domestic, industrial, medical waste, and sewage sludge) stored regularly in the Harmandali solid waste landfill area, within the boundaries of the contiguous area of Izmir.
Abstract: The main objective of this study is to investigate the use of the landfill gas as potential energy and electricity obtained from the municipal solid waste (domestic, industrial, medical waste, and sewage sludge) stored regularly in the Harmandali solid waste landfill area, within the boundaries of the contiguous area of Izmir. The most important factor in making a decision about energy potential in the landfill is the amount of methane in the landfill gas. There are several approaches that have been used to determine the amount of the landfill gas. In this study, three different methods and one approach in the literature were used for this purpose. The methods used are the Multi-Phase, the LandGEM, and the IPCC 2006. The results of the landfill gas obtained using the three methods, namely the Multi-Phase, the LandGEM (k = 0.35, k = 0.1, and k = 0.05), and the IPCC 2006, were as follows, respectively: 291897215, 792073359, 769734749, 681685027, and 491752247 m3. It may be concluded that the Harmand...
