TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt has been made to review the literature on strategies formulated and tested in ultrasonic vibration assisted electrical discharge machining (USEDM), which includes flushing, dimensional accuracy, cavitation, surface morphology, polluted gases and chemical effects etc.
Abstract: In this paper, an attempt has been made to review the literature on strategies formulated and tested in ultrasonic vibration assisted electrical discharge machining (USEDM). The strategies for optimisation of EDM performance include flushing, dimensional accuracy, cavitation, surface morphology, polluted gases and chemical effects etc have been highlighted. The major performance controllable parameters in EDM process have also been discussed in this study. The main emphasis is given on classification of USEDM process on the basis of mode of ultrasonic vibration (UV) action imparted to EDM system, which includes a tool, work piece and the dielectric medium. The ultimate purpose of this study is to generalise the variable relationships of various proposed strategies, which may be applied in industries to improve the performance of USEDM. At the end of this study, some limitations of implementing ultrasonic vibration in EDM have been discussed.

TL;DR: In this article, Gamma spectrometry using HPGe detector was used to measure specific acvity concentra on of 238 U (uranium), 232 Th (thorium) and 40 K (potassium) in vegetables, cereals and fruits collected from fields and market.
Abstract: Background: Vegeta on (food stuff) is grown in soil that contains many radioac ve elements such as 238 U (uranium), 232 Th (thorium) and 40 K (potassium), which may get deposited either due to radioac ve fallout or/and by absorp on from the soil and can pose serious health hazards. Materials and Methods: Natural radioac vity, radiological hazards and annual effec ve dose assessment was carried out in vegeta on samples (vegetables, cereals and fruits) collected from fields and market. Gamma spectrometry using HPGe detector was used. Results: The measured specific ac vity concentra on of 238 U (uranium), 232 Th (thorium) and 40 K (potassium) varied from 10.25 ± 0.94 Bq/kg to 29.13 ± 0.69 Bq/kg, 22.20 ± 2.46 Bq/kg to 58.21 ± 1.15 Bq/kg, and 1158.4 ± 26.05 Bq/kg to 1962.2 ± 18.17 Bq/kg respec vely in various vegetable and cereal samples and varied from 2.5 ± 0.16 Bq/kg to 9.8 ± 0.15 Bq/kg, 7.4 ± 1.24 Bq/kg to 18.4 ± 1.39 Bq/kg, and 287.13 ± 11.23 Bq/kg to 815.72 ± 12.50 Bq/kg respec vely in various fruit samples studied in the present work. From these values, hazard indices, the minimum and maximum values of absorbed dose and indoor and outdoor annual effec ve doses were calculated for various samples used in the present inves ga on. Conclusion: The various values obtained were found to be within the recommended limits. The absorbed dose and annual effec ve dose for the vegetable and cereal samples in which fer lizers were used to enhance the crop yield were higher than that in fruit samples.

17 Apr 2014TL;DR: A review on different Social network Aggregators and issues in integrating social network is given, Exposing criminal behaviours in e-commerce, computer intrusions identification, detecting health problems, analysing satellite images.
Abstract: Organizing contacts, friends, sharing thoughts, emotions searching content and data are the basic means that a social networking site provides. By sharing, and managing content the users form a social network for example, Facebook, Linkedin, twitter, Orkut, etc. A user may exist on several different social networking sites and the problem to maintain the account on these networks prevails. This brings us to define a Social network aggregation i.e. collecting the social content from different social networks and integrate it at a single location/site. It is an attempt to organize a user's social networking experience as whole. This paper gives a review on different Social network Aggregators and issues in integrating social network. Exposing criminal behaviours in e-commerce, computer intrusions identification, detecting health problems, analysing satellite images.

TL;DR: This paper has proposed a rule-based approach for the extraction of the link-context from anchor-text (AT) structure using bottom-up simple LR (SLR) parser and shown that, the proposed LCEA has extracted 100% actual link- context of each considered AT.
Abstract: Most of the researchers have widely explored the use of link-context to determine the theme of target web-page. Link-context has been applied in areas such as search engines, focused crawlers, and automatic classification. Therefore, extraction of precise link-context may be considered as an important parameter for extracting more relevant information from the web-page. In this paper, we have proposed a rule-based approach for the extraction of the link-context from anchor-text (AT) structure using bottom-up simple LR (SLR) parser. Here, we have considered only named entity (NE) anchor-text. In order to validate our proposed approach, we have considered a sample of 4 ATs. The results have shown that, the proposed LCEA has extracted 100% actual link-context of each considered AT.

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of important WEDM parameters on machining performance of Tungsten carbide-cobalt (WC-Co) composite was investigated. But, the results were limited to four input parameters: pulse-on time, pulse-off time, servo voltage and wire feed.
Abstract: . Tungsten carbide-cobalt (WC-Co) composite is a difficult-to-machine material owing to its excellent strength and hardness at elevated temperature. Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is a best alternative for machining of WC-Co composite into intricate and complex shapes. Efficient machining of WC-Co composite on WEDM is a challenging task since it involves large numbers of parameters. Therefore, in present work, experimental investigation has been carried out to determine the influence of important WEDM parameters on machining performance of WC-Co composite. Response surface methodology, which is a collection of mathematical and experimental techniques, was utilised to obtain the experimental data. Using face-centered central composite design, experiments were conducted to investigate and correlate the four input parameters: pulse-on time, pulse-off time, servo voltage and wire feed for three output performance characteristics – cutting speed (CS), surface roughness (SR) and radial overcut (RoC). Using analysis of variance on experimental data, quadratic vs. two-factor interaction (2FI) models have been suggested for CS and RoC while two-factor interaction (2FI) has been proposed for SR. Using these mathematical models, optimal parameters can be determined easily for desired performance characteristics, and hence a trade-off can be made among different performance characteristics.
