TL;DR: In this paper, grey relational analysis (GRA) coupled with entropy measurement method has been employed to optimize the four machining characteristics simultaneously, grey relational grade has been computed as a performance index for predicting the optimal parameters setting for multi-machining characteristics.
Abstract: Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is a well known process for generating intricate and complex geometries in hard metal alloys and metal matrix composites with high precision. In present work, intricate machining of WC-5.3%Co composite on WEDM has been reported. Taguchi’s design of experiment has been utilised to investigate the process parameters for four machining characteristics namely material removal rate, surface roughness, angular error and radial overcut. In order to optimize the four machining characteristics simultaneously, grey relational analysis (GRA) coupled with entropy measurement method has been employed. Through GRA, grey relational grade has been computed as a performance index for predicting the optimal parameters setting for multi machining characteristics. Using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) on grey relational grade, significant parameters affecting the multi-machining characteristics has been determined. Confirmatory results prove the potential of present approach.

TL;DR: The microstructural and mechanical behavior of hybrid metal matrix composite based on aluminum alloy 6082-T6 reinforced with silicon carbide and boron carbide (B4C) particles was investigated in this article.
Abstract: The microstructural and mechanical behavior of hybrid metal matrix composite based on aluminum alloy 6082-T6 reinforced with silicon carbide (SiC) and boron carbide (B4C) particles was investigated. For this purpose, the hybrid composites were fabricated using conventional stir casting process by varying weight percentages of 5, 10, 15, and 20 wt% of (SiC + B4C) mixture. Dispersion of the reinforced particles was studied with x-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy analyses. Mechanical properties such as micro-hardness, impact strength, ultimate tensile strength, percentage elongation, density, and porosity were investigated on hybrid composites at room temperature. The results revealed that the increase in weight percentage of (SiC + B4C) mixture gives superior hardness and tensile strength with slight decrease in percentage elongation. However, some reduction in both hardness and tensile strength was observed in hybrid composites with 20 wt% of (SiC + B4C) mixture. As compared to the ...

TL;DR: A page ranking mechanism called Page Ranking based on Visits of Links (VOL) is being devised for search engines, which works on the basic ranking algorithm of Google i.e. PageRank and takes number of visits of inbound links of Web pages into account.
Abstract: Search engines generally return a large number of pages in response to user queries. To assist the users to navigate in the result list, ranking methods are applied on the search results. Most of the ranking algorithms proposed in the literature are either link or content oriented, which do not consider user usage trends. In this paper, a page ranking mechanism called Page Ranking based on Visits of Links(VOL) is being devised for search engines, which works on the basic ranking algorithm of Google i.e. PageRank and takes number of visits of inbound links of Web pages into account. This concept is very useful to display most valuable pages on the top of the result list on the basis of user browsing behavior, which reduces the search space to a large scale. The paper also presents a method to find link-visit counts of Web pages and a comparison between VOL with the PageRank algorithm.

TL;DR: The result shows that use of reconfigurable machine tool, automation and flexible fixturing have strong driving power and weak dependence power and are at the lowest levels in hierarchy in the TISM model, hence, superior performance of FMS can be achieved by improving the driving factors of flexibility.
Abstract: To increase the manufacturing flexibility, manufacturing organizations are looking at flexible manufacturing system (FMS) as a viable alternative to enhance their competitive edge. There are, however, some factors which affect the flexibility of FMS. Fifteen factors are identified from the literature and found their evaluation by interpretive structural modeling (ISM), exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and graph theory matrix approach. But, Interpretation of the mutual relationship of factors is comparatively weak in ISM. Thus, an upgraded version of ISM i.e. Total interpretive structural modeling (TISM) methodology is used to develop the model and the mutual relationship of factors is identified in the TISM. This paper is an application of TISM to interpret the mutual relationship with the ISM using the tool of interpretive matrix and leads to evolving the framework and find out driving and the dependence power of factors, using fuzzy MICMAC analysis. The result shows that use of reconfigurable machine tool, automation and flexible fixturing have strong driving power and weak dependence power and are at the lowest levels in hierarchy in the TISM model. Hence, superior performance of FMS can be achieved by improving the driving factors of flexibility.

TL;DR: The problems in current Agile practices thereby proposed a method for accurate cost and effort estimation, which focuses on the research work in Agile Software development and estimation inAgile.
Abstract: Projects that are over-budget, delivered late, and fall short of user's expectations have been a common problem are a for software development efforts for years. Agile methods, which represent an emerging set of software development methodologies based on the concepts of adaptability and flexibility, are currently touted as a way to alleviate these reoccurring problems and pave the way for the future of development. The estimation in Agile Software Development methods depends on an expert opinion and historical data of project for estimation of cost, size, effort and duration. In absence of the historical data and experts the previous method like analogy and planning poker are not useful. This paper focuses on the research work in Agile Software development and estimation in Agile. It also focuses the problems in current Agile practices thereby proposed a method for accurate cost and effort estimation.
