TL;DR: In this article, a graph theoretic approach has been applied to find the intensity of these barriers through an index which is computed through a permanent function obtained from the digraph of TPM barriers.
Abstract: Total productive maintenance (TPM) is an innovative approach to maintenance which holds the potential for enhancing effectiveness of production facilities. But, implementation of TPM is not an easy task. Innumerable barriers are encountered in real-life cases during TPM implementation. It is very essential to evaluate the nature and impact of these barriers so that production and maintenance managers can cultivate some strategies to overcome these barriers. In the present exertion, a graph theoretic approach has been applied to find the intensity of these barriers through an index which is computed through a permanent function obtained from the digraph of TPM barriers.

TL;DR: The paper uses interpretive structural modeling and MICMAC analysis, to illustrate the designing and implementation of AMS and highlights the influence of factors including, organizational structure, outsourcing, top management support, convertibility etc.
Abstract: The paper aims to examine the design and implementation model for Agile Manufacturing System (AMS). This paper contributes to the literature on AMS by identify the factors for adoption of AMS. Nevertheless, there is relatively little research on AMS and techniques that take into account the dynamic nature of manufacturing system. To address this gap, the paper firstly reviews systematically the introduction on AMS; secondly, it provides the various factors necessary to address question and implementation of AMS in industry; thirdly, it uses interpretive structural modeling and MICMAC analysis, to illustrate the designing and implementation of AMS and fourthly, highlights the influence of factors including, organizational structure, outsourcing, top management support, convertibility etc. Finally, this paper concludes with managerial implication and further research directions.

Abstract: The object of this paper is to establish the existence and uniqueness of coupled fixed points under a ( , )-contractive condition for mixed monotone operators in the setup of partially ordered metric spaces. Presented work generalizes the recent results of Berinde (2011, 2012) and weakens the contractive conditions involved in the well-known results of Bhaskar and Lakshmikantham (2006), and Luong and Thuan (2011). The effectiveness of our work is validated with the help of a suitable example. As an application, we give a result of existence and uniqueness for the solutions of a class of nonlinear integral equations.

17 Aug 2012TL;DR: The purpose of this paper is to rank the AMS alternatives by using fuzzy grey relational analysis, which will help managers when choosing an appropriate AMS, and proposes a multi‐attribute decision‐making (MADM) method, fuzzygrey relational analysis (FGRA), for AMS selection.
Abstract: Purpose – Advanced manufacturing system (AMS) offers opportunities for industries to improve their technology, flexibility and profitability through a highly efficient and focused approach to manufacturing effectiveness. Selecting a proper AMS is a complicated task for the managers as it involves large tangible and intangible selection attributes. Failure to take right decision in selecting proper AMS alternative may even lead industry to losses. The purpose of this paper, therefore, is to rank the AMS alternatives by using fuzzy grey relational analysis, which will help managers when choosing an appropriate AMS.Design/methodology/approach – This research proposes a multi‐attribute decision‐making (MADM) method, fuzzy grey relational analysis (FGRA), for AMS selection. The methodology is explained as follows. AMS alternatives and selection attributes will be chosen. The qualitative attributes will be converted into quantitative using fuzzy conversion scale. Then these data will be pre‐processed to normali...

TL;DR: In this paper, Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles and Rare Earth (RE) ion Cerium (Ce) doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical precipitation technique.
Abstract: In the present study Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles and Rare Earth (RE) ion Cerium (Ce) doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical precipitation technique. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), transmission electron microscope (TEM), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), UV–visible spectroscopy and ferromagnetism behavior at room temperature. The XRD and EDX analysis revealed that Ce doped ZnO pattern matched with the ZnO pattern i.e. they exhibited hexagonal wurtzite structure and Ce ions were successfully incorporated into the ZnO nanoparticles. TEM images illustrated the average diameter of synthesized nanoparticles. The average diameter of ZnO and Ce doped ZnO nanoparticles was around 20 nm. PL measurements revealed that ZnO nanoparticles and Ce doped ZnO nanoparticles had an UV emission and a green emission while the Ce ions doping induced a red shift in the UV emission with broadening in the green emission. Direct type of transition of band gaps was confirmed by transmission spectra occurring at 3.5 and 3.2 eV respectively for ZnO nanoparticles and Ce doped ZnO nanoparticles i.e. decrease of band gap energy with doping of Ce ions in ZnO nanoparticles. The magnetization study on the Ce doped ZnO nanoparticles exposed outstanding ferromagnetism property at room temperature.
