TL;DR: A hybrid approach where in image steganography and cryptography are combined to protect the sensitive data thereby ensuring improved security in data communication is proposed.
Abstract: For a very long time, various forms of steganographic and cryptographic techniques have been used to ensure security in data communication. Whereas steganography is the art of hiding the fact that any communication is taking place, cryptography on the other hand ensures data security by changing the very form of the data being communicated by using a symmetric or an asymmetric key. But, both the methods are susceptible to being weakened by a challenger. In steganography, there is always a possibility of detection of the presence of a message by the opponent and most of the cryptographic techniques are vulnerable to disclosure of the key. This paper proposes a hybrid approach where in image steganography and cryptography are combined to protect the sensitive data thereby ensuring improved security in data communication. To find the impact of the same, a simulator was designed in MATLAB and corresponding time complexities were recorded. The simulation results depict that this hybrid technique although increases the time complexity but ensures an enhanced security in data communication.

TL;DR: This paper provides analysis of cosine similarity for social profiles and proposes a novel method to compute Piecewise Maximal Similarity between profiles that is 6% more effective to measure similarity thancosine similarity based on computations on real data.
Abstract: Computing Profile Similarity is a fundamental requirement in the area of Social Networks to suggest similar social connections that have high chance of being accepted as actual connection. Representing and measuring similarity appropriately is a pursuit of many researchers. Cosine similarity is a widely used metric that is simple and effective. This paper provides analysis of cosine similarity for social profiles and proposes a novel method to compute Piecewise Maximal Similarity between profiles. The proposed metric is 6% more effective to measure similarity than cosine similarity based on computations on real data.

TL;DR: An ANP comparison based study is presented here to know the performance of hybrid supply chain over JIT supply chain and traditional supply chains and most preferred supply chain out of three has been recognised.
Abstract: Just in time (JIT) got momentum to meet the requirement of mass production with quality embedded features in finished goods. Industries are intended to keep no inventories with nil scrap to reduce lead time in era of mass production. These can be well achieved by improvising, the three processes of supply chain i.e. procurement, production and distribution in purview of just in time management. But JIT implementations in these processes are hardly achievable. Therefore execution process of JIT may be modified to tolerate minimum inventories and scrap in meeting the minimum lead time. JIT supply chain has been recent development in literature to reduce these three aspects. But, some rigid justifications of JIT supply chain to enhance business operations has made to modify it with amalgamating of few leverage of stock keeping, allowable scrap and justifiable lead time. This Supply chain has been referred here as hybrid supply chain (HSC). An ANP comparison based study is presented here to know the performance of hybrid supply chain over JIT supply chain and traditional supply chains. With the help of this model most preferred supply chain out of three has been recognised.

16 Mar 2015TL;DR: In this paper, a rectangular microstrip patch antenna (RMPA) using square grid of rods and I shaped metamaterial is presented to achieve miniaturization of reference patch antenna resonating at 5.2 GHz.
Abstract: In this paper, design of compact rectangular microstrip patch antenna (RMPA) using square grid of rods and I shaped metamaterial is presented. To achieve miniaturization of reference patch antenna resonating at 5.2 GHz, I shaped metamaterial is embedded underneath the patch which shifts the resonating frequency to lower side at 4.36 GHz and thus provide 33% compactness in size. Embedding a square grid of rods beneath the patch provides dual band at 2.56 GHz and 4.03 GHz. Besides providing the compactness, both technique also improves the returns loss and enhances the bandwidth.

01 Jan 2018TL;DR: An improved recommendation technique is proposed to address the issues identified in the popular collaborative filtering method, including accuracy, sparsity, and cold start.
Abstract: Recommender systems have changed the way people find products, information, and services on the web These kinds of systems study patterns of behavior to know someone’s interest will in a collection of things he has never experienced Collaborative filtering is a popular recommendation algorithm that works to find user’s interest patterns and recommendations based on the ratings or behavior of other users or target user in the system The assumption behind this method is to find a user with similar interest to the active user and use his/her preference for recommendation to the active user But several issues exist in the kind of method For example, accuracy, sparsity, and cold start In this paper, an improved recommendation technique is proposed to address the issues identified
