TL;DR: This paper focuses on the estimation of quality of data warehouse conceptual models using quality metrics, and shows that some of the metrics are strong measures of understandability of conceptual models.
Abstract: In every organization, fast information access and making right decisions based on the information accessed is very important. A good data warehouse provides efficient information extraction and decision making. In this paper focus is on the estimation of quality of data warehouse conceptual models using quality metrics. An empirical study is performed on the data collected using various statistical techniques. A new metric NRFD (number of relations between facts and dimensions) has also been included for empirical validation. The results of experiments show that some of the metrics are strong measures of understandability of conceptual models.

TL;DR: In the case of sol-gel, polymer and thin film matrices of C60 and C70, it is found that the broader absorption bands with less intensity suffer from intermolecular interaction.
Abstract: The electronic absorption spectra of C60 and C70 molecules have been reported in various solvents viz., polar, aliphatic and aromatic. In addition the electronic absorption spectra of C60 and C70 also recorded in different matrices viz., sol-gel, polymer and thin film. The solvent effect has been observed in polar, aliphatic and aromatic solvents. The aromatic solvent shows larger red shift as compared to other solvents. The solution form electronic absorption spectra C60 and C70 show the conjugation effect and compared with the absorption spectra reported in different matrices like sol-gel, polymer and thin film. In the case of sol-gel, polymer and thin film matrices of C60 and C70, it is found that the broader absorption bands with less intensity suffer from intermolecular interaction.

TL;DR: A new method is proposed in this paper in which synsets are derived using online resources and the semantic similarity between terms is calculated that helps in query suggestion or replacement of one query with the most appropriate query.
Abstract: To retrieve semantically related documents with the query submitted by the user has always become a challenging task. An efficient assessment of semantic similarity is of critical importance in the area of information retrieval and web mining so as to associate the query with its associated documents. However their cannot be any accurate measure for semantic similarity as its domain is spread not only over individual words but also on the terms, phrases, sentences, entity and sometime even over whole of the document. To calculate semantic similarity between terms based on synsets a new method is proposed in this paper in which synsets are derived using online resources. The advantage of the proposed work is that, the semantic similarity between terms is calculated that helps in query suggestion or replacement of one query with the most appropriate query.

TL;DR: This paper presents an outline regarding various page ranking algorithms for academic digital libraries and highlights comparison of these algorithms in context of performance and encourages for further required improvement in the related field.
Abstract: With the exponential growth of academic digital libraries, ranking has become an extremely challenging task. When a researcher tries to retrieve relevant scientific literature, or perform a literature review based upon which to build their research, then ranking of search results of a user query plays an important role. Ranking provides an order so that users can easily navigate through the search results and find the desired information content. The various ranking algorithms have been proposed based upon many factors like citations to publications, content similarity, annotations etc. This paper presents an outline regarding various page ranking algorithms for academic digital libraries and highlights comparison of these algorithms in context of performance. This comparative analysis encourages for further required improvement in the related field.

TL;DR: In this article, an attempt has been made to study the social implications of high technology related manufacturing on Indian society by using interpretive structural modelling (ISM) technique to identify the driving and dependent social implications.
Abstract: Flexible manufacturing systems offer many advantages over conventional manufacturing systems to enable different organisations to compete in global markets. Despite these benefits, FMSs have some important impacts on the social life. Through this paper an attempt has been made to study the social implications of this high technology related manufacturing on Indian society. For this purpose, interpretive structural modelling (ISM) technique has been utilised to identify the driving and dependent social implications of flexible manufacturing system (FMS). Moreover, ISM technique has been used in finding the mutual relations of these social implications by developing a frame work model. This ISM model may be utilised to identify the key social implications which will be helpful in the area of FMS. In the present work, factor affecting the social implication of FMS have been recognised through literature study and an ISM model has also been prepared based on ranking of questionnaire-survey and opinion of experts.
