TL;DR: In this paper, an ANFIS control scheme is investigated to control active and reactive power fed into grid through three phase voltage source inverter to enhance the power quality and increase the dynamic performance.
Abstract: Distributed generation (DG) is experiencing a rapid development as a new means of power generation. Power electronics systems can account for a significant part of the total capital cost of a typical DG system. In grid-connected DG systems, single-phase or three-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) voltage-source inverters (VSIs) are often used for synchronizing the utility grid with DG source in order to (i) regulate active reactive power control through voltage and frequency control (ii) power quality improvement. The current control of the grid-connected inverters plays a predominant role in feeding a grid with high quality power. In this paper, ANFIS control scheme is investigated to control active and reactive power fed into grid through three phase voltage source inverter to enhance the power quality and increase the dynamic performance. The average power control method provides high quality sinusoidal output current and controls the average power flow. ANFIS current controller is used to track reference current. The studied system is modeled and simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink environment and the results obtained are compared with conventional PI controller. The ANFIS based control shows better performance compared to PI current controller.

TL;DR: A multi-objective optimization algorithm is proposed which optimizes dc source magnitudes and switching angles to yield minimum THD in cascaded multilevel inverters using metaheuristic approach, namely Harmony Search algorithm.
Abstract: Power loss is the most significant parameter in power system analysis and its adequate calculation directly effects the economic and technical evaluation. This paper aims to propose a multi-objective optimization algorithm which optimizes dc source magnitudes and switching angles to yield minimum THD in cascaded multilevel inverters. The optimization algorithm uses metaheuristic approach, namely Harmony Search algorithm. The effectiveness of the multi-objective algorithm has been tested with 11-level Cascaded H-Bridge Inverter with optimized DC voltage sources using MATLAB/Simulink. As the main objective of this research paper is to analyze total power loss, calculations of power loss are simplified using approximation of curves from datasheet values and experimental measurements. The simulation results, obtained using multi-objective optimization method, have been compared with basic SPWM, optimal minimization of THD, and it is confirmed that the multilevel inverter tired using multi-objective optimization technique has reduced power loss and minimum THD for a wide operating range of multilevel inverter.

TL;DR: The coupled tanks are used to select the best tuning strategy for PID controller based on its performance and stability, and then the best tuned controller is obtained after comparing various tuning strategies like Ciancone, Cohen Coon & Ziegler- Nicholas tuning methods.
Abstract: This paper, explains about the background study of the coupled tank and to model such tanks using Simulink blocks. It must explains, the coupled tanks are used to select the best tuning strategy for PID controller based on its performance and stability, and then the best tuning controller is obtained after comparing various tuning strategies like Ciancone, Cohen Coon & Ziegler- Nicholas tuning methods based on their performance in controlling the couple tanks. The couple tank is then designed on Simulink as well and three different tuning methods for PI & PID controller calculations are implemented. The controller which gives best performance corresponding their tuning parameters which is obtained from various tuning method, and then selected.

TL;DR: A novel method for controlling the current source converter (CSC) based D-STATCOM using with Fuzzy-PI controller for mitigation of voltage sag, improvement of THD of source current, loadCurrent, load voltage and also maintains DC link Voltage profile is presented.
Abstract: A novel method for controlling the current source converter (CSC) based D-STATCOM is presented in this paper using with Fuzzy-PI controller for mitigation of voltage sag, improvement of THD of source current, load current, load voltage and also maintains DC link Voltage profile. The model has been tested and simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation result under normal and change in load conditions has been studied without and with D-STATCOM.

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive literature review on motivation was done to finalise the variables of assessing academicians' motivation level and their further inclusion in structured questionnaire, and the results of this study may help public and private academic bodies to examine the motivation level of faculty members, thereby to formulate different policies to further improve their motivation level.
Abstract: Motivation refers to the way a person is enthused at work to intensify his desire and willingness to use his energy for the achievement of organization's objectives. Motivation is vital to all organizations. The motivation among academicians is far more important for development of young generation. This research paper aims to identify the factors which motivate academicians of higher education. A comprehensive literature review on motivation was done to finalise the variables of assessing academicians' motivation level and their further inclusion in structured questionnaire. This questionnaire was used to acquire data from the academicians working in different institutes and universities of NCR region. The factors were identified by conducting an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) using SPSS 19.0 version. Through EFA twelve factors were extracted namely Recognition of Seniority, Growth opportunities, Interpersonal Relationship, Participative Management, Responsibility with Authority, Job Security, Personal Factor, Performance Management System, Monetary Benefits, Top Management Support, Student Feedback and Appreciation, Research Based activities. The results of this study may help public and private academic bodies to examine the motivation level of faculty members, thereby to formulate different policies to further improve their motivation level.
