TL;DR: A new visual abstraction scheme is presented that employs a hierarchical multi-class sampling technique to show a feature-preserving simplification and to enhance the density contrast, the colors of multiple classes are optimized by taking the multi- class point distributions into account.
Abstract: Scatterplots are widely used to visualize scatter dataset for exploring outliers, clusters, local trends, and correlations. Depicting multi-class scattered points within a single scatterplot view, however, may suffer from heavy overdraw, making it inefficient for data analysis. This paper presents a new visual abstraction scheme that employs a hierarchical multi-class sampling technique to show a feature-preserving simplification. To enhance the density contrast, the colors of multiple classes are optimized by taking the multi-class point distributions into account. We design a visual exploration system that supports visual inspection and quantitative analysis from different perspectives. We have applied our system to several challenging datasets, and the results demonstrate the efficiency of our approach.

TL;DR: It is found that Cd exposure increased the accumulation of soluble sulfide in Arabidopsis plants and when exogenous sulfide, in the form of NaHS, was foliarly applied, Cd-induced growth inhibition and oxidative stress were alleviated.

TL;DR: This paper proposes a new concept called characteristic implicit resource-transition nets, and successfully establishes a necessary and sufficient condition for a resource subset to generate an SMS.
Abstract: Systems of sequential systems with shared resources (S4PR) represent a class of Petri nets that have powerful modeling capability for resource allocation systems. Their efficient siphon computation is important. An open issue is how to determine whether a resource subset can generate a strict minimal siphon (SMS). This paper presents the answer. In particular, we propose a new concept called characteristic implicit resource-transition nets. By charactering such nets, we successfully establish a necessary and sufficient condition for a resource subset to generate an SMS.

10 Jul 2011TL;DR: This paper pays attention to online hotel reviews, and proposes a supervised machine learning approach using unigram feature with two types of information (frequency and TF-IDF) to realize polarity classification of documents.
Abstract: As the widespread use of computers and the high-speed development of the Internet, E-Commerce has already penetrated as a part of our daily life. For a popular product, there are a large number of reviews. This makes it difficult for a potential customer to make an informed decision on purchasing the product, as well as for the manufacturer of the product to keep track and to manage customer opinions. In this paper, we pay attention to online hotel reviews, and propose a supervised machine learning approach using unigram feature with two types of information (frequency and TF-IDF) to realize polarity classification of documents. As shown in our experimental results, the information of TF-IDF is more effective than frequency.
