Abstract: Los estudiantes se enfrentan cada vez mas a retos y exigencias del medio que demandan una gran cantidad de recursos fisicos y psicologicos de diversa indole. Muchos de ellos dejan sus estudios o disminuyen de manera considerable su rendimiento academico sin encontrar una explicacion. Dos variables que han sido poco estudiadas en nuestro contexto y que pueden dar claridad a buena parte de esta situacion son el burnout y la satisfaccion. En esta investigacion se establecio la relacion del burnout, el rendimiento academico, con la satisfaccion frente a los estudios en una muestra de 202 universitarios de la jornada nocturna de una universidad privada de Barranquilla, quienes respondieron el MBI-SS (Schaufeli, Martinez, Marques Pinto, Salanova, & Bakker, 2002). Los resultados indican correlaciones negativas entre agotamiento, cinismo, autoeficacia y rendimiento academico con la satisfaccion frente al estudio, mientras que el vigor, dedicacion y absorcion se correlacionaron positivamente con esta. Por otro lado, el buen funcionamiento academico se correlaciona positivamente con las dimensiones del engagement y negativamente con el cinismo; de manera particular, ninguna de las variables se correlaciona con el agotamiento, a pesar de evidenciar cinismo y baja autoeficacia.

Abstract: En este trabajo se describen algunas definiciones y el concepto de imagen corporal y las preocupaciones exageradas acerca de si mismo que pueden llegar a constituir el trastorno dismorfico. Se analizan las caracteristicas clinicas de este trastorno, asi como las quejas que sobre la apariencia son mas frecuentes. Se estudia la relacion de este trastorno con nivel de autoestima, identidad de genero, ansiedad interpersonal y depresion. Se hace un repaso a diferentes tecnicas de evaluacion y de tratamiento de este trastorno. Finalmente se describen algunas perspectivas de futuro en relacion al estudio de este trastorno. Tras analizar los resultados observados en diferentes estudios se llega a la conclusion de que la presion por la estetica es muy superior en las mujeres que en los hombres y que presentan mayor insatisfaccion al valorar su apariencia en todas las areas.

Abstract: The physical, psychological and sexual violence among the couples of adolescents and young adults that are not married neither cohabiting (well-known generally as “dating violence”), has been object of a vast number of investigations in the last two decades that show a high prevalence inside the adolescent and juvenile population. The objective of this work was to carry out an analysis of the literature in connection with the prevalence, risk factors and difficulties associated with this partner violence type. This analysis allowed to elaborate an outline of the factors that could favor the acts of violence, including the previous experiences of victimization inside and outside the family, the acceptance of the violence toward the couple, and the relationship with pairs that have exercised this form of violence.

Abstract: The concept of constructivism is used in different conceptual frameworks and traditions of research. In this paper, we define a set of fundamental elements which are shared by constructivist perspectives in psychology and education. The concrete elements are: a relativistic epistemology, a conception of individuals as active agents, and an interpretation of knowledge construction as a social process, situated in a cultural-historical context. Those elements make possible to explore the nature of and to refer to a constructivist view differentiated from other theoretical positions in psychology.

Abstract: ^len^aThis study aimed to verify the Factorial Structure of the Brazilian version of the Social Skills Rating System (SSRS-BR), with an extended sample of participants, and their subsequent Confirmatory Factor Analyses in another subset of data. The analyses were based on a total sample of 942 evaluations of children between six and thirteen years of age, 817 evaluations of teachers and 562 evaluations of parents, residents of four Brazilian states. The exploratory factor analysis performed on half of the data, indicated a five-factor structure for the social skills scale for parents, and a four factor structure for the scales of the teachers and students. For the behavior problems scales, three factors were found in the instrument for parents and two factors in the instrument for the teacher. Confirmatory factor analysis showed satisfactory fit indices for the three instruments, after removing some items and performing some re-specifications.^les^aEste estudio tuvo como objetivo verificar la estructura factorial de la version brasilena del Social Skills Rating System (SSRS -BR), con una muestra ampliada de participantes y su posterior analisis factorial confirmatorio en otro subconjunto de datos. Los analisis se basan en la muestra total de 942 evaluaciones de los ninos entre seis y trece anos de edad, 817 evaluaciones de maestros y 562 evaluaciones de padres, residentes de cuatro estados brasilenos. El analisis factorial exploratorio realizado en la mitad de los datos indico una estructura de cinco factores para la escala de habilidades sociales para los padres y una estructura de cuatro factores para las escalas de los maestros y estudiantes. Para las escalas de problemas de conducta, se encontraron tres factores en el instrumento para los padres y dos factores en el instrumento para el maestro.
