TL;DR: In this paper, a characterisation of inner product spaces among normed spaces involving the notion of strong convexity is given. And it is shown that the following conditions are equivalent: (1) (X,k · k) is an inner product space; (2) f : X! R is strongly convex with modulus c > 0 if and only if f ck · K 2 is convex; and (3) k · k 2 is strongly congruent with respect to modulus 1.

Abstract: In the survey paper, along one of several main lines of bounding the ratio of two gamma functions, the authors retrospect and analyse Wen- del's double inequality, Kazarino's renement of Wallis' formula, Watson's monotonicity, Gautschi's double inequality, Kershaw's rst double inequality, and the (logarithmically) complete monotonicity results of functions involving ratios of two gamma or q-gamma functions obtained by Bustoz, Ismail, Lorch, Muldoon, and other mathematicians.

Abstract: The issue of Ulam's type stability of an equation is understood in the following way: when a mapping which satisfies the equation approximately (in some sense), it is "close" to a solution of it. In this expository paper, we present a survey and a discussion of selected recent results concerning such stability of the equations of homomorphisms, focussing especially on some conditional versions of them.
