TL;DR: In this article, a digital computer program for the analysis of small signal dynamic stability of power systems is described, which uses the state space approach and determines the stability by computing the eigenvalues of the coefficient matrix of the linearized systems.
Abstract: A digital computer program for the analysis of small signal dynamic stability of power systems is described. The program uses the state space approach and determines the stability by computing the eigenvalues of the coefficient matrix of the linearized systems. Results of some of the investigations carried out using the program are presented. The examples considered demonstrate how the program has been used as a useful analytical tool by an electric utility for solving a variety of stability problems.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sequential-type method for real-time processing of transformer tap positions is proposed, which exploits the information contained in the measurement residuals to estimate a better tap position.
Abstract: Reviews the methods for network parameter estimation and correction in power system state estimation and proposes a sequential-type method for real-time processing of transformer tap positions. The method exploits the information contained in the measurement residuals to estimate a better tap position; it uses a linearized sensitivity model to relate the measurement residuals to the tap position error. Based on part of the Belgium HV system, several testing results are reported.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the results of a project which employed impulse radar to detect faults existing beneath the surface of an asphalt-covered bridge deck at Papineau Creek, Ontario.
Abstract: This paper describes the results of a project which employed impulse radar to detect faults existing beneath the surface of an asphalt-covered bridge deck at Papineau Creek, Ontario. A simple but enlightening mathematical analysis is provided which accurately predicts the waveforms actually observed. The methodology clearly demonstrates the usefulness of impulse radar as a diagnostic tool in remote sensing. Amongst the problems discussed and solved are: the identification of faults due to debonding, scaling, and delamination; the measurement of asphalt thickness at selected locations on the bridge deck and hence the determination of average thickness over the entire bridge deck; and the automated processing of the data using a computer. A comparison of the radar detected faults with those detected using conventional methods is provided. A set of parameters has been developed which permits data to be reduced to a simple set of measurements that can be plotted for visual inspection.

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison of several methods for obtaining reduced-order models for large-scale power systems is made, and the applicability of these methods to power systems dynamics is considered by comparing the responses of various reducedorder models of a synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus through a transmission line.

TL;DR: The Fast FSK is a particular kind of FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) which is useful for the transmission of digital data over an r.f. channel which is limited in both bandwidth and power.
Abstract: The Fast FSK is a particular kind of FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) which is useful for the transmission of digital data over an r.f. channel which is limited in both bandwidth and power. This paper describes the performance of the Fast FSK, and outlines the practical circuits which demodulate it.
