TL;DR: A close histogenetic relation of AMF and AAM was discussed because of their lightmicroscopical and immunohistochemical overlapping.
Abstract: Angiomyofibroblastoma (AMF) was described recently as a benign tumour with histology very similar to pelvic aggressive angiomyxoma (AMM). Cases from vulva and scrotum are known for the time being. Two cases of AMF were presented, one quite unusual from vaginal portion of uterine cervix. Both cases had typical histology with biphasic structure of proliferating vessels with various diameter and of stromal myofibroblasts with a desmin positive and actin negative immunophenotype. The same expression was found in subepithelial connective layer of vaginal mucosa which is supposed to be the source of AMF. A close histogenetic relation of AMF and AAM was discussed because of their lightmicroscopical and immunohistochemical overlapping.

TL;DR: Two distinct morphological types of malignant lymphoma in the same patient occur mostly due to transformation of a low- grade lymphoma to high-grade lymphoma.
Abstract: Two distinct morphological types of malignant lymphoma in the same patient occur mostly due to transformation of a low-grade lymphoma to high-grade lymphoma. When two morphologically different structures are found at different sites they represent discordant lymphoma. Composite lymphoma, on the other hand, shows two histologic subtypes involving the same location. Bimorphic morphology of malignant lymphoma is of therapeutic and prognostic significance.

TL;DR: Immunohistochemical study of 15 complete moles detected expression of human chorion-gonadotropin (hCG), human placental lactogen (hPL) and placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP) and there was not any positivity in cytotrophoblastic cells.
Abstract: Immunohistochemical study of 15 complete moles detected expression of human chorion-gonadotropin (hCG), human placental lactogen (hPL) and placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP). Syncytiotrophoblast showed the most conspicuous expression of hCG, hPL positivity was mild, PLAP positivity poor. Intermediate trophoblast had stronger hPL positivity There was not any positivity in cytotrophoblastic cells.

TL;DR: The results indicate that steroid hormones and their receptors could play, both in normal and tumorous tissues, more important biological role than expected so far.
Abstract: Estrogen receptors (ER), progesterone receptors (PR) and some other estrogen-induced proteins (EIP) were found in the cells of salivary gland carcinomas, thyroid carcinomas, in gliomas and in various farther neoplasms as well as in some normal tissues. The positivity was demonstrated in both females and males. The results indicate that steroid hormones and their receptors could play, both in normal and tumorous tissues, more important biological role than expected so far.

TL;DR: A group of 30 cases of partial hydatid mole were studied by cytogenetics and immunohistochemistry and there was not found any detectable immunopositivity in trophoblastic cells.
Abstract: A group of 30 cases of partial hydatid mole were studied by cytogenetics and immunohistochemistry. Trophoblastic cells were always triploid. Syncytiotrophoblastic cells and intermediate trophoblast showed the strongest expression of PLAP, hPL positivity was mild. Expression of hCG was only focal. There was not found any detectable immunopositivity in trophoblastic cells.

TL;DR: Importance of atypical decubital fibroplasia (ischemic fasciitis) is in its histological similarity to sarcoma-as it was in both the presented cases.
Abstract: Two cases of atypical decubital fibroplasia (ischemic fasciitis) were presented Both patients were immunocompromized and their lesions were located in usual decubital places (back shoulder, femorogluteal region) Histology was typical: 1 zone of fibrinoid necrosis, 2 neighbouring cellular parts reminding of proliferative fasciitis Focal high cellularity with atypical ganglioid fibroblasts and mitotic activity imitated sarcoma Immunohistochemistry showed expression of vimentin in all cells and of KP1 (CD 68), lysozym as well as F-XIIIa in majority of them There was not any expression of desmin, actin, S-100 protein, cytokeratin and epithelial membrane antigen Importance of atypical decubital fibroplasia (ischemic fasciitis) is in its histological similarity to sarcoma-as it was in both the presented cases

TL;DR: Ulastructural findings documented ischemic damage of cardiomyocytes-clearing of basal sarcoplasm, clearing of perinuclear zones, occurring of cytolytic regions and even necrotic disintegration of carduocytes.
Abstract: Ischemic damage of rat myocardium was produced by ligature of coronary arteries. Animals were studied in three groups: those dying of dysrhythmia, animals after ischemia lasting 10 minutes and 20 minutes. All of them were investigated by ECG and extrasystoles, bigeminia, trigeminia, salvos, ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation were found. Groups with ECG finding were sampled for electron microscopy. Ultrastructural findings documented ischemic damage of cardiomyocytes-clearing of basal sarcoplasm, clearing of perinuclear zones, occurring of cytolytic regions and even necrotic disintegration of cardiocytes.

TL;DR: The supersensitive streptavidin-biotin detection system with alkaline phosphatase was found to provide the best results and prevent the occurrence of imperfect stainability of superficial parts of trephine cylinders caused by an effect of formic acid on non-fixed bone marrow tissues.
Abstract: We tested several modifications of paraffin embedding technique when examining bone marrow biopsies in order to achieve an optimal combination of morphology and antigen preservation. Short pre-fixation in formalin followed by mixture of formalin and 10% formic acid were found optimal for quick tissue processing where electron microscopy was not planned. Formalin pre-fixation prevents the occurrence of imperfect stainability of superficial parts of trephine cylinders caused by an effect of formic acid on non-fixed bone marrow tissues. Decalcification in mixture of formol and EDTA is recommended if there is time enough. The supersensitive streptavidin-biotin detection system with alkaline phosphatase was found to provide the best results.

TL;DR: Final phase of the disease was characterized by nodular AL amyloidosis expressed especially in the lung, retroperitoneum and nervous system, and possible autoimmune pathogenesis of polyneuropathy as well as of immunocyte vacuolization were discussed.
Abstract: Dysgammaglobulinemia, amyloidosis and generalization of tumour occurred step by step in sensomotoric polyneuropathy complicating a nonspecified malignant lymphoma. The tumor was specified later as a IgM lambda immunocytoma with substantial participation of signet ring cells. Their vacuoles were sometimes multivesicular and did not contain immunoglobulins. Final phase of the disease was characterized by nodular AL amyloidosis expressed especially in the lung, retroperitoneum and nervous system. Amyloidosis was connected with the vessel walls and their surroundings. Possible autoimmune pathogenesis of polyneuropathy as well as of immunocyte vacuolization were discussed.
