TL;DR: Acupuncture is more effective than Cobamamide for treatment of peripheral neuropathy induced by chemotherapeutic drugs, especially for moderate and severe sensory nerve disorder induced by paclitaxel.
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To seek the effective treatment for peripheral neuropathy induced by chemotherapeutic drugs METHODS Sixty-four cases of peripheral neuropathy induced by Paclitaxel or Oxaliplatin were randomly divided into an acupuncture group and a medication group, 32 cases in each group The acupuncture group was treated with therapeutic principle of dredging meridians and collaterals, tonifying qi and eliminating blood stasis, supplementing liver and kidney, nourishing blood and tendon Hegu (LI 4), Taichong (LR 3), Zusanli (ST 36), Qihai (CV 6) and Quchi (LI 11) etc were selected The medication group was treated with intramuscular injection of Cobamamide The neurotoxicity of two groups was compared with questionnaire of peripheral neuropathy induced by chemotherapeutic drugs before and after treatment RESULTS The total effective rate for sensory nerve disorder of acupuncture group was 667% (20/30), which was superior to that of 400% (12/30) in medication group (P < 005) CONCLUSION Acupuncture is more effective than Cobamamide for treatment of peripheral neuropathy induced by chemotherapeutic drugs, especially for moderate and severe sensory nerve disorder induced by paclitaxel

TL;DR: Acupuncture and auricular pressing therapy in improvement of symptoms and signs are better than the medication, and the therapeutic effect is carried out by inhibiting the differentiation from Th cells to Th2 cells, adjusting the imbalance of Th1/Th2 cells and decrease the synthesis of IgE to inhibit allergic rhinitis.
Abstract: Objective To compare therapeutic effects of acupuncture and auricular point pressing therapy on allergic rhinitis. Methods One hundred and fifty cases were randomly divided into an acupuncture group, an auricular point pressing group and a medication control group, 50 cases in each group. The acupuncture group were treated with acupuncture for 6 consecutive days, once each day, with an interval of one day; and the auricular point pressing group were alternatively treated twice each week; the medication group were treated with oral administration of western medicine saitezan, once daily, 10 mg once. They were treated for 4 weeks, and the short-term and long-term therapeutic effects, and effects on serum immunological indexes were compared among the three groups. Results The acupuncture group and the auricular point pressing group in the short-term therapeutic effect and improvement of cumulative scores of symptoms and signs, and the long-term total therapeutic effect and the improvement of cumulative scores of symptoms and signs were better than the medication group (P0.01, P0.05), with no significant differences between the acupuncture group and the auricular point pressing group. Serum IgE, IL-4 contents decreased and IFN-γ level did not significantly change in the three groups. Conclusion Acupuncture and auricular pressing therapy in improvement of symptoms and signs are better than the medication, and the therapeutic effect is carried out by inhibiting the differentiation from Th cells to T h2 cells, adjusting the imbalance of T h1/T h2 cells and decrease the synthesis of IgE to inhibit allergic rhinitis.

TL;DR: The analgesic effect of acupuncture treatment is better than that of the Three Step Administration, with no adverse effect and addiction of analgesics.
Abstract: Objective To search for a safe and effective method for alleviating cancer pain. Methods Sixty-six cases of late cancer with pain were first divided into 3 different degrees of pain, mild, moderate and severe, and then the patients with pain of each same degree were randomly divided into an acupuncture group treated by acupuncture at 3-5 of the most severe tender points, and a medication group treated with oral administration according to the WHO Three Step Administration Principle, i.e. the patients with mild pain took aspirin, moderate pain took codeine and severe pain took morphine. Results Both two methods could effectively control cancer pain. The total effective rate of 94.1% in the acupuncture group was significantly better than 87.5% in the medication group (P Conclusion The analgesic effect of acupuncture treatment is better than that of the Three Step Administration, with no adverse effect and addiction of analgesics.

TL;DR: Both ear acupuncture and body acupuncture have obvious therapeutic effect on juvenile simple obesity, and have some actions on blood lipids.
Abstract: Objective To probe the optimal acupuncture treatment program for juvenile simple obesity. Methods Ninety cases were randomly divided into 3 groups: ear acupuncture group, body acupuncture group and control group. The patients of the control group were treated by regulating diet structure, increasing motion and mental direct of slimming, in the body acupuncture group, body acupuncture at Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Tianshu (ST 25), Zusanli (ST 36), etc. were added, and in the ear acupuncture group, acupuncture at ear acupoints Jidian (hunger point), Pizhixia (subcortex), earshenmen, etc. were added. Seventy days later, the therapeutic effects and changes of blood lipids were observed. And they were followed up after one month. Results The total effective rate was 69.23% in the body acupuncture group, 65.52% in the ear acupuncture group and 26.67% in the control group, with significant differences as the two acupuncture groups compared with the control group. And there were significant differences in total cholesterol (TC) and lower density lipid protein-cholesterol (LDL-C) as the two acupuncture groups compared with the control group. There was no significant difference between the two acupuncture groups in all the indexes. Conclusion Both ear acupuncture and body acupuncture have obvious therapeutic effect on juvenile simple obesity, and have some actions on blood lipids.

TL;DR: Ear point taping and pressing therapy has significant therapeutic effect on primary dysmenorrhea and the long-term therapeutic effect was better than that in the western medication group.
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To observe therapeutic effect and prognosis of ear point taping and pressing therapy for primary dysmenorrhea. METHODS One hundred and fourteen cases were randomly divided into an ear taping and pressing group of 60 cases and a western medication group of 54 cases. The ear taping and pressing group were treated by ear point taping and pressing at Shenmen, Zigong (uterus), Neifenmi (endorine), Pizhixia (subcortex), Jiaogan (sympathesis) and Shen (kidney), which were taped and pressed by a adhesive plaster with Vaccaria seeds. The western medication group were treated with oral administration of Indomeixin enteric tablets. The therapeutic effects were assessed after treatment of 3 menstrual cycles. RESULTS The total effective rate was 91.7% in the ear taping and pressing group and 77.8% in the western medication group with a significant difference between the two group (P < 0.05); and the long-term therapeutic effect in the ear taping and pressing group was better than that in the western medication group. CONCLUSION Ear point taping and pressing therapy has significant therapeutic effect on primary dysmenorrhea.
