Clinical Curative Effects of Kaixin Powder on Depression with Mild or Moderate Degree

Abstract: Objective:To research clinical curative effects of Kaixin Powder on depression.Methods:Eighty patients suffering from depression with mild or moderate degree were randomly divided into two groups according to a random digits table,Kaixin Powder group and Fluoxetine group,with 40 cases in each group.Patients in the Kaixin Powder group were treated with Kaixin Powder and in the Fluoxetine group with Fluoxetine for 8 weeks.Hamilton rating scale for depression(HAMD) and the rating scole of each factors of 7-factor HAMD were used to evaluate curative effecton.Results:After two and four weeks of treatment,Hamilton rating scale,which reflecting the curative effect,was more obvious in Kaixin Powder,with a significant difference(P0.05).For 6 weeks and 8 weeks treatment,there was not a significant difference between two groups(P0.05),but the clinical controlling ratio after 8 weeks treatment was more significant in Kaixin Powder group(P0.05).The rating scores of anxiety/somatization and sleep disturbance was more obvious in Kaixin Powder group than another,with a significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion:Kaixin Powder is secure and effective in treating on depression,and,it's worth further study.

Immunological Regulation Effects of Essential Oil in Leaves of Cablin Patchouli Herb on Mice

Abstract: Objective:To study the immunological regulation effects of essential oil in leaves of Pogostemon cablin(Blanoa)Benth on mice.Methods:Serum pharmacology was used to study immunological regulation effects of different time drug-containing serum of essential oil in leaves of Pogostemon cablin(Blanoa)Benth on leukocytes,abdominal cavity macrophage and splenic lymphocytes.Results:3.0h and 4.0h drug-containing serum of 0.8mL/kg essential oil has very obviously activation effects on leukocytes(P0.01);6.0h drug-containing serum has obviously activation effects on leukocytes(P0.05).3.0h drug-containing serum has obviously activation effects on abdominal cavity macrophage(P0.05);4.0h and 6.0h drug-containing serum has very obviously activation effects on abdominal cavity macrophage(P0.01).3.0h,4.0h and 6.0h drug-containing serum has obviously activation effects on splenic lymphocytes(P0.05).Conclusion:Essential oil in leaves of Pogostemon cablin(Blanoa)Benth has immunological regulation effects on mice.

Advances of the Mechanism of Moxibustion

Abstract: Moxibustion has great efficacy,such as disease prevention and health protection,warming meridians to dissipate cold,recuperating depleted Yang,removing blood stasis and resolving hard lump,leading heat out of the body,etc.It is generally believed in domestic and foreign researches that meridians and acupoints combined with physical and chemical effects of moxibustion result in a "comprehensive moxibustion effect." A review of mechanism research of moxibustion is given;furthermore,some suggestions for the researches are also proposed.

Investigation on the Effect of Traditional Chinese Medical Jieduquyuziyin Methods on the Quality of Life with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Abstract: Objective:To determine the quality of life(QOF)of the patients with systemic lupus erythematousus(SLE)by short form-36 (SF-36),before and after treated by the traditional Chinese Medical(TCM)Jieduquyuziyin methods.Methods:147 cases of SLE were randomly divided into the Integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group(79 cases) and the western medicine group(68 cases).The western medicine group was treated mainly with prednisone only,while the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group with Jieduquyuziyin methods on the basis of normal western medicine.Both groups were treated for 2 therapy course,3 months as a course.The reliability and availability of SF-36 was investigated and determined first.Then the QOF of patients with SLE were researched and determined.Results:The coefficients of both each sub-scale and total score of SF-36 were more than 0.85,the coefficinet of Cronbach's a more than 0.8.The actual makeup and theoretic makeup of physical factor and mental factor was consistent basically.To be compared before therapy,the scores of each sub-scale and total form in two groups of SLE were lower than those in the Chinses normal model(P0.05);To be compared with before and after therapy,the sub-scale and total scores in the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group increased significantly(P0.05),the other sub-scale in the western group also increased significantly(P0.05) but the score of GH and SF(P0.05).To be compared after therapy,the were no marked difference in the score of BP and MH(P0.05) between the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group and western group,while being obvious difference in other sub-scale and total scores(P0.05).Conclusions:The form of SF-36 is well fitted for determining the QOF of SLE patients,which has a better reliability and availability.Treating SLE with TCM Jieduquyuziyin methods integrated prednisone has better effect on the QOF than therapy by the western medicine only,which is worth generalizing and applying.
